This money was awarded from a lawsuit involving Chi Chi's Restaurant.

William K. Schwartz Memorial AwardAnnual scholarship in recognition of outstanding contribution to the Beaver Area Senior High School Music ProgramMr. Schwartz was a varsity marching and concert band director as well as director of the "Beaver Bop-Cats" swing band.

Mike Walter Memorial ScholarshipAnnual schoarship in recognition of outstanding work ethic while participating in school, sports, and community activitiesCoach Mike Walter was a part of the Beaver Football Staff for four years and a teacher at Moon Middle School. He had a great passion for education and all things related to sports. Mike passed away in a tragic car accident in December 2011. He strongly believed that good students were left behind due to a lack of scholarships that focused on the individual as a whole rather than just their academics

One is presented to a football player and the other to a non-football playerDuring the 1997 football season the president of the QB Club and his staff created this scholarship in the name of long-time coach Pat Tarquinio.

Bobby E. Carter Memorial Basketall ScholarshipAnnual scholarship preseted to an oustanding senior basketball player who has demonstrated Integrity, Faith and CourageBobby Carter was the brother of Betty Sue Schaughency. He earned all-state honors in basketball at Virginia High School and also was a star on the University of Tennessee team. He served two terms in the Tennessee State Senate and earned a reputation for integrity and commitment. He also served faithfully for 32 years as pastor of Gardner's Chapel primitive Baptist Church, the church his father founded in Bristol, VA

Witowich, Jr. Memorial Scholarship AwardAnnual scholarship presented in recognition of high academic achievement in Chemistry and participation in school activities and community functionsSteve Witowich was a beloved Chemistry teacher and head of the Science Department who passed away in August of 2007 following a brief illness. Students began fundraising with the assistance of teachers and parents.

DiBenedetto Scholarship Fort McIntosh Club ScholarshipAnnual scholarship presented to a graduating senio who will pursue a 2 - 4 year educational training in the technical fieldsBill DiBenedetto was a band director and music teacher as well as the District's Staff Development Coordinator. Following his tenure at Beaver he served as Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent in several Beaver County Districts. He was actively involved in various organizations in the community.

Jeff Murrin Memorial ScholarshipAnnual scholarship in recognition of high academic achievement and outstanding potential in the field of marine biology/fisheries, religious studies, or a medical related field to assist those with disabilitiesThis scholarshp is given in memory of Charles Jeffrey Murrin, the late husband of Mary Kay Gloekler Murrin, Class of 1972. He was a devout Christian family man, an avid runner, and a life-long learner. Jeff was an accomplished "catch and release" fly fisherman, having a deep love and respect for the great outdoors. His philosophy of life could be paraphrased as the worst day fishing was better than the best day at work! At the age of 55, Jeff was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, known as Lou Gehrig's disease. During the ten years he lived with ALS, Jeff became a role model and advocate for people with disabilities. This scholarship is awarded to a student attending a trade school or collegiate program for study of one of the following: marine biology/fisheries, religious studies, or a medically related field to assist those with disabilities. May the recipient of this award make a difference in the lives of others as Jeff did to those who knew and loved him.

An annual award between $500 and $1,000 given at the Board's discretion to support student participation in outdoor educational and recreational programs for all grade levels, with emphasis on hunting, fishing, archery, camping and similar outdoor field sports activitiesMr. Trill desired to promote recreational participation for boys and girls in outdoor sportsmanship, particularly hunting, fishing and shooting.

Ed was a broadcaster at KDKA radio and television for 48 years from 1932 - 1980.
