how did you like dancing to larks and ravens (1=hated it, 5=loved it)I like the idea but prefer different termshow many dances with these terms have you attendedshould bida use these termscomments
2
555make sure callers explain what they mean for new folks and people who are confused
3
use "robin" not "raven"; "mad robin" doesn't matter
4
I really like Scotty's piano style: clear beat and phrase helps dancers
5
3x23I think of them as Lower=Lark because that's where the arm goes in a swing
6
3x1Does lead/follow accomplish the same goal? Easier for new people.
7
514"leads and follows" might be more user friendly

312I will do it, if it really makes a majority more comfortable
15
424seems good and inclusive

545Now the people are more used to it, it works great!

515I initially had a slight preference for lead/follow but aftere trying larks/ravens definitely like it better. I feel it does an excellent job reducing the role differences to left/right, removing gender entirely. A+!
20
3x3 or 42leads + follows or lefts + rights. It's just one more confusing thing for new dancers. I support the intent but too confusing.
21
313Takes getting used to but overall I think it's a good practice to try
22
1x31there are other clearer terms, such as leaders and followers
23
525Danced twice to it here, many times elsewhere

555yay larks and ravens!
28
575especially good when caller emphasizes Larks Left Ravens Right as Will did
29
535keep it please! I find I can get used to it quickly. If we can adjust to getting rid of "gypsy" we can adjust to this.

111I do understand the idea. At the samer time, I actually like clear gender roles in dance. I'm a gent, not a lady.
32
121It throws old hats a curveball and is weird and arbitrary for beginners
33
55+5Love it, and it's getting more and more familiar. I love that it encourages everyone to dance both roles and making folks feel safe
34
523I don't care what terms specifically, but bida already feels more inclusive with gender neutral terms
