PURPOSE: Tests confirm that the horse is supple and moves freely forward in a clear steady rhythm, accepting light contact with the bit. The horse demonstrates greater understanding of the aids and calm acceptance of the bridle; greater emphasis is placed on relaxation, harmony, rideability and pure gaits. The horse is beginning to develop more impulsion and balance.RIDER #6006

Before A
Circle left 20m, working lope

Develop working jog
Balance and bend on the circle and in corner; regularity and quality of the lope; willing, smooth transition, regularity and quality of the jog.6.56.5nice geometry.. but needs bal and bend --- rider or saddle is slipping left, when this happens weight goes left and hor5se goes on inside shoulder ie leans over or heels over and avoids bend, rider has to stay in the center of the horse and ask the horse to bend around the inside leg not gheel over to circle,, may have to concentrate on keeping weight down on outside seatbone and turn 1-2 degrees at belly button to turn you core/seat thighs// that is what turns the shoulders of the horse. think of the horse as a front wheel drive car.. if the shoulders/scapulars/withers of the horse actually turn(rotate) then the horse DOES NOT heel over.. and bend occurs. be aware that bend starts with the rider siverling their head level to LOOK where going, then the poll of the horse must follow and lead then the shoulders like front wheel drive flex, ribcage flexes and hind legs follow.. ( your outside lower leg holds hind legs on the determined line)

Circle left 20m, free jog

Gather the reins, working jog
Stretch forward and downward over topline with relaxation maintaining balance, tempo and regularity of jog; bend on the circle and in corners; smooth, willing retake of the reins and transition to working jog.5210object is to ask the horse to lower poll below withers and 'round up his back" to get bascule.... you need some bend and the horse must flex at the pol directly and laterally to improve back quality

2ImpulsionDesire to move forward with suppleness of the back and steady tempo.6.56.5showed some energy in the working jog but back often tight
27
3Rider’s Position, Seat, and HandsWell-balanced elastic seat demonstrating vertical, centered alignment, with light independent contact from hand(s)6.56.5hands could be closer together with wrist pronation and hands around the swell of the saddle to help with positioning to use 1.2 halts / slight chair seat. core to be more stable at time weight shifting left/right must avoid leaning to turn
28
4Rider’s Correct and Effective Use of the AidsEvidenced by the horse's responsiveness; steady elastic connection cultivating athletic expression. Accuracy - precise placement of the figures and transitions, the effectiveness of the rider's aids determines the accurate fulfillment of the required movements of the tests6.56.5see above
29
5HarmonyThe horse accepts the aids and influence of the rider with attention, relaxation and confidence; and demonstrates a willing partnership between horse and rider resulting in a free flowing performance7214nicely harmonious and working jog showed some nice energy today / this pair still needs a rounder connection to the bridle
30
attractive team that looks comfortable together. rider needs more stable core and horse to be round and more supple in jaw/poll and topline. rider position hands closer together and more around the swell of the saddle . this is necessary when riding two handed in a snaffle to get the correct positioning to the bridle for elastic and correct connection.
