Fawn-based Colours

A Brindle mouse could be either Viable Yellow A(vy) or Hyper Variable Yellow A(hvy) in any of the below. A(hvy) produces all A-locus colours from Fawn, Agouti, Black, Agouti Brindle and Black Brindle from undermarked to overmarked.

Agouti-based mice can be thought of as being comprised of alternating Black and Fawn colours. The phenotype is produced by the differing effect of the genotype on the Black and Orange pigment.

C-dilute Colours

The C-locus is linked to the P-locus so it's not possible to get Pink-Eyed C-dilute mice. However, there have been cases of a link-swapped c(ch) gene in Australia, so it could be possible to get Pink-Eyed Havana.

The c(e) gene is highly variable. Coffee, which is the same in appearance as Reverse Siamese without the point, is also produced by as c(e)c(e), and Beige, which is a darker version of Bone, is also produced by c(e)c.

Agouti-based C-dilute Colours

The C-locus is linked to the P-locus so it's not possible to get Pink-Eyed C-dilute mice. However, there have been cases of a link-swapped c(ch) gene in Australia, so it could be possible to get Pink-Eyed Silver Agouti (Argente Cream).

For the paler C-dilute colours, adding Agouti simply makes the colour less defined, and more 'mealy' in appearance. The exceptions are the darker colours, which make Silver Agouti and Chinchilla.
