The dark chocolate and black wrapper is a plus. 90Less is more with mostly tobacco and a little hay. There is a cedary sweetness on the cold draw.87.5MediumMediumNot much spice to start with, rather an oak base with some coffee and chocolate highlights. There is an earthy leather flavor in the background helping to shape the profile. As the third progresses some of the pre-light cedar appears on the retrohale. 87.5MediumMediumThe chocolate is transitioning to more of a cocoa taste as the leather ramps up. Some minor flavor shifts occur throughout between the woodsy notes and earthiness. There is not a lot of excitement.87.5MediumMediumA slight sourness develops as some grasses creep into the picture. It creates an interesting contrast to the cocoa and newly arriving allspice. Sadly the balance of flavors never materializes before becoming a little bitter.90The draw with this cigar is close to how I want it when smoking.85Despite a decent draw, the smoke production was a bit weak and the burnline ran wild during the final third.87.5The lack of much smoke and a fair burnline lead me to think there might be some construction issues at the root.87.5This cigar started with a lot of potential that was never realized. The flavors were OK, but got a little muddy after the first third. The grassy notes that developed near the end created a sourness before becoming bitter. Perhaps some addition rest would benefit this cigar.70

The surface also has some lighter colored spots on a very dark chocolate background. The feel is firm the entire length of the cigar. There are two caps that are clearly visible, however I feel that there are three caps just not very distinct on mine. There are also no soft spots on the cigar.87.5The predominant aroma is one of tobacco and an almost charcoal and ash like character. The dry puff definitely brings black pepper to the tongue as well as some of that leather and ashy flavors as well. No major sweet flavors to speak of at this time.87.5MediumMediumInitial third of this cigar starts off with a blast of pepper and the pepper increases in intensity for the next inch or so. The pepper is quite pervasive and leaves a tingling inside the mouth. Once the pepper mellows out the predominant flavor is a leather and tobacco with a slight chemical taste in the back ground. Towards the end of the third the chemical flavor is more prominent and this is definitely less pleasant and there is now the appearance of an ashy charcoal flavor. The burn and draw are very good till the end of the third. The ash holds well to the end of the third. 85MediumMediumThe middle third starts off with a more prominent chemical and ammonia like flavor with some leather. The ash ad charcoal like flavor also increases in strength. There is also the appearance of a slight bitterness. The tobacco and leather are now in the background. The cigar is much less pleasant because of the the flavors are not in harmony with each other. The burn and draw are still very good and the smoke is abundant and creamy.85MediumMediumThe final third starts of with the same chemical and ash like flavor that persists from the last third. The Pepper makes a reappearance in this third and increases in intensity as the third progresses to the very end. As the pepper increases in intensity the less desirable flavors even though present are somewhat masked. Seems quite one dimensional in the last 2/3. No issues with the burn or the draw. Overall the cigar is quite one dimensional and mediocre. 92.5NO issues with the draw92.5No issues with the burn90Seems well constructed with a firm feel. The firmness retains even with the heat going through it. 90The wrapper smelled of mild leather, the foot had a tobacco aroma, there was a mild ash and pepper flavor when I licked the head to moistened, not a bad flavor, and the dry puff had a musty taste with some pepper.
87.5Medium-StrongMedium-FullThis cigar was fairly easy to light. The initial flavor I got was that of a smokey fire pit like taste. There was an uneven burn to start. As it progressed I started to get lots of pepper on my throat. There was lots of thick creamy smoke.

The burn was uneven, which points to some construction issues. The ash was light grey and flaky in the middle, and solid around the outside.85Overall this was not a bad cigar if you like a pepper bomb or one dimensional flavor. I did like the draw and the larger amounts of thick creamy smoke.120

There is a nice quad cap that is well applied and a nice semi-toothy wrapper. 90The wrapper has an odor of dry leaves.While the foot and pre-draw has notes of dark chocolate and pepper.95Mild-MediumMediumThe first half inch of this cigar starts out with a very oily pepper that coats the tongue and drowns out most of the other flavors. After the pepper starts to subside it really opens up and develops some really good flavors and balance. The leather, coffee, and pepper all work very well together and the floral and heavy cream retro-hale add a really great dimension. The wrapper has started to develop some cracks on multiple sections of the cigar but it isn't causing any issues so far. 90MediumMediumIt's hard not to notice how great the ash is on this cigar. It wasn't until the halfway point that the ash feel and landed with a thud. The coffee flavor at the start of this third was more like chewing coffee beans than drinking coffee but it was short lived. The flavor profile changed dramatically around the halfway point becoming dominated with a strong mineral flavor with leather and pepper hanging around. The retro-hale has the same floral and heavy cream flavor as the first third. 90MediumMediumThe mineral flavor has picked up in intensity and is giving a slightly bitter flavor. The flavors haven't really changed from the previous third still consisting of leather, coffee, and pepper but the bitterness is detracting from overall enjoyment of the flavors. The retro-hale has now also lost its floral notes and now is a strong pepper. 97.5Great draw even with the cracked wrapper.90The burn was a little off due to the wrapper cracking and did require one relight.90The wrapper had several sections that did crack but it didn't affect the overall construction and the ash held till the halfway point of the cigar.87.5The start of the cigar was by far the best with the middle and final third becoming a little overpowered by the mineral and bitterness that it brought. I probably wouldn't purchase any of these as it's kind of just a middle of the road smoke. 127

Strength soon drops to medium-strong, the cocoa becomes richer on the palate, the herbaceous impressions of thyme, sweet mint and cedar become more noticeable (particularly) on the retrohale, and the white pepper notes become focused on the very long finish. Additionally, the thick Maduro wrapper begins tasting sweeter as it becomes more wet.90Medium-StrongLight-MediumThe second third looses some of the herbal notes while the underlying cocoa flavor becomes drier, shifting from semi-sweet cocoa to semi-bitter dry cocoa powder. The white pepper also becomes more faded on the finish. Past the midpoint there is an addition of bourbon barrel flavors on the palate and some red pepper spice on the finish.87.5Medium-StrongLightThe final third introduces bitterness, the main flavor thus becoming bitter dark chocolate. The red pepper is still there on the finish, but it's most noticeable on the retrohale.95The cap was perfectly, snuggly attached, allowing for precise cuts. A op punch hole seemed to work during the pre-draw, but upon lighting I had to use a V-cut, and the draw was then great till the end.92.5The first third had serious canoeing which self-corrected by the second third.
