3 | Welcome to Trans-Wa's Community Aid Directory! Direct, Mutual, and Community-Based Aid for Trans and Gender-Expansive People in (or relocating to) Washington State |
4 | What is the Community Aid Directory? Trans-Wa's Community Aid Directory (CAD) is a virtual collection of mutual, direct, and community aid requests and offers by and/or for trans and gender-expansive (TGE) individuals, families, community groups, organizations, and businesses. We welcome listings from trans, Two-Spirit, 3rd gender, intersex, nonbinary, agender, gender fluid, gender non-conforming, gender-expansive, and all other gender diverse people, as well as TGE-led and/or TGE-focused organizations, businesses, and groups. This directory is intended for folks who live in Washington State, but may include requests and offers from nearby communities as well. |
5 | How to use this directory - Browse the tabs - Use the table filtering features if you would like to search for something specific - Submit aid requests and offers for us to add (link below!) - Donate, if you can - Share! (short URL: https://transwa.org/cad) A note about dates: Please keep in mind that even if a fundraiser seems a little older, it's likely that the person still needs support! Gender-affirming care takes *years,* so even if something is several months old, it is likely still very relevant and urgent for the recipient. Also, if a trans or gender-expansive person was struggling with basic needs, rent, care access, etc., before the last election, it's very likely they are still struggling now! |

13 | Who maintains this directory? The Trans-Wa Community Aid Directory is maintained by The Transgender Health and Wellness Center of Washington ("Trans-Wa"). We are a trans-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that advances health equity and justice for trans and gender-expansive people across Washington State by eliminating barriers to self-determination, building gender-expansive community and capacity, and driving institutional and systemic change. Our aspiration is to co-create a future of mutual liberation where the infinite spectrum of gender is universally celebrated, especially for gender-expansive and historically marginalized individuals. Our programming prioritizes multiply marginalized trans and gender-expansive (TGE) people, especially TGE folks who are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, Disabled, neurodivergent, undocumented, fluent in languages other than spoken English, and/or living in economic poverty. |
