PURPOSE: To confirm that the horse demonstrates correct basics, and having achieved the thrust required in First Level, now accepts more weight on the hindquarters (collection); moves with an uphill tendency, especially in the medium gaits; and is reliably on the bit. A greater degree of straightness, bending, suppleness, throughness, balance and self-carriage is required than at First Level.RIDER #8062

2IMPULSION (Desire to move forward; elasticity of the steps; suppleness of the back; engagement of the hindquarters)5210engagement, tracking behind shoulders, impulsion
39
3SUBMISSION (Willing cooperation; harmony; attention and confidence; acceptance of bit and aids; straightness; lightness of forehand and ease of movements)6212willing but not confirmed on the bit in transitions and lateral work, ease of movements
40
4RIDER’S POSITION AND SEAT (Alignment; posture; stability; weight placement; following mechanics of the gaits)616quiet rider but hyperextension of upper back, hands to be more elastic, rider mostly on right seatbone and right leg, leans to turn

long term hyperextension of the upper back will cause compressed discs in a rider.
41
5RIDER’S CORRECT AND EFFECTIVE USE OF AIDS (Clarity; subtlety; independence; accuracy of test)5.515.5accuracy, bend, correct blancance and position to support collecting aids

Thank you for this lovely turnout! Gorgeous to have a traditional outfit on this horse! this team has potential. Rider .. avoid getting behind vertical.. use core and sit "UP" through body do not lean back! . Work on correct turning aids.. be sure seat and stirrup weight is even left to right which is essential for collection, lateral work and tight turning figures. good luck!
