76Investigate how to make our newsletters searchable.Gary Rappaport11/17/2020In ProgressGary has been working with one of Microsoft's vendors (ECF Data) about how SharePoint could satisfy our requirements. Pete has exchanged several emails with Joe Criner (ECF Data) and on Jan 11 attended a brief demo of SharePoint. However neither the demo or any of the accompanying YouTube links actually demonstarte the search feature that we are looking for. Pete plans to send Joe Criner several of our newsletters (PDFs) along with 5 search words and ask for a more specific demo. On March 25 Pete sent 5 newsletters to Joe Criner and asked him to schedule a demo of the search capability. 4/7 - Pete attended a meeting with Joe and one of his technicians to understand how they planned to meet our requirements. 4/8 - Joe sent Pete an estimate ($4,500) for what it would cost to set up the demo; that environment could then be used for our website. 4/16 - Pete told Joe that his estimate was outside of our budget; Joe said he would try to reduce the configuration cost. 4/16 - Pete and Gary attended a demo of the "Archive in a Box" solution that uses OCR (optical character recognition). They charge $1.15 per page and we have 263 pages that need to be scanned (our newsletters that have not been converted to PDFs). However they have a 1,500 page minimum for any job. 9/21: Gary reported that he has been looking at using Adobe Pro but we would still need to scan the old newsletters; will people really use this search tool ? 1/18/2022 - Gary has identified Advantage Archives as a possible company to scan our newsletters and use OCR to make them searchable. Gary needs to determine the hosting costs.

She wanted to speak with Efrain Hernandez to understand his position before reaching a decision on the location of these plaques.

90Our organization recently acquired one of Anthony Radomski's leatherworks (about Native Americans). However it is in need of repair. Pete to investigate where this repair work can be done.Pete Marcus12/14/2021Closed2/11/20221/18 - Several Board members suggested that Pete try Crestwood Shoe Repair. 1/27 - Pete showed the shoemaker the leatherworks and asked for his advice: leather condition (he felt that it was currently in good shape after 30 years but in the future an application of neutral shoe polish would keep it from cracking) and attaching to the plywood (he showed Pete some thin nails that could probably be purchased at either Michael's Crafts or Jo-Ann Fabric and Crafts); Pete purchased the upholstery nails at Jo-Ann. 2/3 - Pete made the repairs and contacted the Principal (Stuart Horlacher) at the Middle School to see if he is interested in displaying the leatherowrks at his school. 2/11 - Pete dropped off the leatherworks and stand at the Middle School.

Paul will get back to Matt with more information (cost, etc).Matt Arone12/14/2021Closed2/24/20221/18 - Barbara's company (Monte Press) has been a sponsor for several years. Once she receives her letter from the Little League about renewing her sponsorship she will let Matt know. 2/7 - Matt has been in touch with Andy Hambelton from Ardsley Little League: $850 will get us a team sponsorship (including our name on the players T-shirts), a banner on the McDowell Park fence (their banner not ours), a team picture and a plaque, plus we can participate in the parade. Plus they are happy to start a relationship with us to do jpint ventures. Next year if we want to continue to sponsor a team, the cost would be $700 since they would already have the banner made. 2/22 - At Feb 22 meeting Board members voted to approve the $850 payment to sponsor a team. 92Gary has suggested that purchasing a banner to hang on the village's outdoor bulleting board (on the southeast side of the Asford Avenue bridge) would be a good way to increase our visibility with the community. Gary will investigate costs, etc.Gary Rappaport12/14/2021Closed1/24/2022Gary solicited input from board members on the colors that people preferred. The final choice was white letters on a black background. Gary collected information from Half-Priced Banners. He decided to order two banners (both 13 oz vinyl): (a) 4 x 10 ft (AHS Logo with our website address) and (b) 2 x 10 ft (Celebrating our 40th year). This year both banners would hang together. In future years the larger banner could be reused by itself. The total cost was $110 with free shipping. 1/19 - the banners were delivered; 1/24 - both banners were hung on the Village bulletin board and will stay up through Sunday

Pete has been invited to attend the next Board meeting (May 31) and give a brief description of the marker's significance. 5/31 - The entire Board was very enthusiastic to Pete's presentation. 6/10 - Dr Schoenfeld agreed that getting the marker installed before graduation would be a great opportunity since there will be extra foot traffic that week. 6/23 - since the marker was not installed prior to graduation Pete suggested that getting it installed prior to July 4 would be a good idea; Dr Schoenfeld agreed and received a commitment from Joe Urbanowicz to install the marker before July 4; 6/27 - the marker was installed just past the stop sign adjacent to the backstop for the baseball field
