Source:FireRed/LeafGreenLeaf's opinion of her home town can be summed up with one word - boring. The only excitement she
could find in the small town was in Oak's lab, seeing all sorts of pokemon she would see residing at
the lab! Naturally, as she grew up, she set her sights on the lifestyle of a trainer, and as she drew
toward an age that her mother expected she could be trusted out on her own, it was arranged that her
gift for that birthday would be registration, a pokedex, and one pokemon gifted from the professor himself!

Leaf's goal was a simple one shared by many who set foot on the trail, to become the best and take on the league. That quest demanded to be taken one step at a time, though... and Leaf became a little overzealous. She developed a bad habit of challenging trainers whenever see saw them. Met a passerby on a trail? Battle! In the game corner? Let's play a game, it's called a battle! Other trainer trudging out of a cave, with wounded and weary pokemon? Easy pickings, battle time! What can she say? There were few better feelings for her than winning, no matter how easy or difficult the battle was.

She never particularly cared about how fair a fight would be, though that wasn't to discredit her skills and determination. She blazed a path through the land, clashing with trainers, the occasional criminal, and every gym leader in the region until she had her opportunity to beat her head at the league itself. It had taken her some tries, but eventually she managed to best the gauntlet of the elite four and claimed her position as the Indigo league champion!

For all of five minutes before some silent kid waltzed in and beat her.

It was... a somewhat humbling experience, keyword being somewhat. Try as she might, she couldn't manage to take the championship again. It was around her sixth try when Agitha gave her a suggestion. Begin again. Retrace her steps from the start, broaden her personal experience, explore reaches of the land she overlooked, and re-think her strategies along the way. It took another three attempts before Leaf even considered the advice.

In time, she returned home to leave her pokemon at the homestead, and made a request with the professor for that one Pokemon that was left behind so many years back.
