Leukemia & Lymphoma Societylocal areaThe Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is looking for high school students to organize an online fundraising campaign to raise money for cancer research and to support the families of cancer patients. The time commitment is approximately 4 hours per month for 5 months, which will give a minimum of 20 hours of community service. Students can earn more service hours by increasing their involvement. This is a great chance for those interested in careers in business, nonprofit management, finance, event planning, healthcare, or scientific research to learn more about those fields and to build leadership and professional skills. Students can work alone or with another student of their choice. They will have the guidance of LLS mentors. This is an excellent experience to put on college applications and to discuss in college essays and interviews. This is also an ideal service opportunity for those who are very busy and need community service that fits their schedule. All fundraising and meetings can be done online. For more information, please contact Ingrid Latham 630-699-3064.
