What work is HS2 doing?HS2 plans in Colne Valley are to clear the wetland nature reserves and construct power stations, access roads, worksites and to drive hundreds of deep piles into the chalk aquifer across the valley for footings for a 3.4km viaduct. Drilling into the aquifer has already begun and HS2 are taking possession of more land on Dews Lane monday 3rd March. - Tunneling 0.5 miles away - this is a site for dumping earth.

- This camp is in viaduct that Phase 1 will want		I split wendover and jones hill into two columns, some of the info in wendover might be more applicable for Jones Hill500 acre infra structure maintenance depot. clearing trees , miles of hedgerow, taking a stio off Calvert Jubilee nature reserve , felling one third of ancient woodland. HS2 route itself will affect 2mire anvientvwoidlanfds. Decoypond wood with Bechsteins bat and hairstreak butterfly and Seephouse wood SSSI with pendunculate Oakland Bechsteins bat.Crackley Woods is sadly being decimated by HS2. Our focus now is trying to disrupt the work in nearby Broadwell Wood. We have a solid crew of trained rebels who are planning some serious fun and games with the contractors this week of 13 April!

Lots of houses, Listed house. Rubble but beautiful! farmland. Calvert village adjacent to reserve . Steeple Claydon and Twyford within in one to two miles of the reserve.

Well stocked lovely camp with shower block, kitchen and good water supply. Room for new arrivals! Two treehouses up on Broadwell Woods.

what is at risk22percent of Londons water supply, 4,000 trees have already been felled. Another 28,000 trees are marked for felling and 100 acres of ancient woodland, 60 acres of wetland, 2,400 species of flora and fauna in the area, three nature reserves and two sites of Special Scientific Interest. Future HS2 plans in Colne Valley are to clear the wetland nature reserves and construct power stations, access roads, worksites and to drive hundreds of deep piles into the chalk aquifer across the valley for footings for a 3.4km viaduct.

Pile driving is due to start shortly in a known pollution pathway from New Years Green landfill site, a Special Site of contamination, this will contaminte the water supply of 3.2 miliion people. Campaigners believe this is an illegal activity and not in the Public Interest.

Save Colne Valley campaigners say no water safeguarding permits in place and that in the interest of public health HS2 must be scrapped before more irreversible damage can take place. The planned works also threaten the 2,400 species of flora and fauna in this area, including otters, water voles, eels, glow worms, barn owls, tawny owls, little owls, kestrels, kites, buzzards, sparrowhawk, peregrines. 120 species of birds nest in the trees. Cone Valley is the only area of extensive wetwoodland in London - a priority habitat for the UK - with vast biodiversity. Including lakes, canals, rivers. Endangered species are also at threat - water voles. Porteected species such as badgers are also threatened. Earth protectors have found that HS2 have covered up badger setts with chicken wire and staked with wooden posts - which is illegal. This has been reported to wildlife authorities.
