The city's law enforcement and fire departments have 16-year-old analog digital radios. This severely restricts city personnel's ability to effectively communicate with local emergency personnel that have already switched over to the newer digital system. Cameras for officers will be an added layer of safety for the Caruthersville law enforcement department. Overall, these purchases will increase efficiency and safety throughout the city and mitigate communication issues in emergency situations, when time is of the essence.

This project will provide the town with a modern, energy-efficient facility that will serve both the town's employees as well as their rural citizens.

The funding for a police vehicle from the Community Facilities Grant will assist the Pearson Police Department in providing the essential service of public safety to its citizens by increasing the officers' ability to serve and protect.
