Laura Patterson asked the question: "Do you share any of the following infrastructure services with the Medical School or Hospital? Please indicate yes/no. Also provide any comments you want."
The services asked about were:
-- Data Centers
-- Network
-- Telecomm
-- Identity Management
-- Storage
-- Help Desk

There were 23 universities who responded. The results were transcribed into the Summary and Data tabs on this spreadsheet.

The Summary tab shows pie charts summarizing the sharing between Campus and Hospital for each of the six services. "Some" refers to partially shared. "Future" refers to comments that indicated there are plans to share the services but they aren't shared now. There is a single pie chart showing how the med school aligns with either campus or hospital (or in 2 cases, neither). See the paragraph titled "Med School Alignment" below for more detail.

Details of the responses are in the Data tab. The six columns with service names refer to sharing between Campus and Hospital (Y=shared, N = not shared). The med school responses were not detailed since most of them followed a specific pattern described in the "Med School Alignment" paragraph below. For the 6 med schools that did not align directly with campus or hospital, the details are noted in the comments (as is any other commentary provided in the response).

Med School Alignment: When a med school answered all "Yes", they were identified as being completely aligned with campus. When a med school answered all 6 questions exactly the same as the hospital, they were identified as being completely aligned with the hospital. All but 6 of the responses were directly aligned with one or the other, and appear to reflect where the Med School is placed in the university organization (with Health Systems or with Academics). Of the 6 not directly aligned with one or the other, 4 were nearly aligned with campus - all 4 only had one or two services that the Med School did themselves or shared with the hospital.
