Three teachers, an instructional assistant, a volunteer and a student from Paterson Public Schools have tested positive for the coronavirus, district officials said Wednesday.

The instructional assistant worked at the Rosa L. Parks School of Fine and Performing Arts, two teachers worked at the Great Falls Academy and Public School No. 11 and one worked at the School of Education and Training (SET Academy).

The student attends the School of Business, Technology, Marketing and Finance at the John. F. Kennedy Education Complex, the district said.

And, a volunteer who helped distribute student meals at the Mighty Sons of God, 77 Park Ave., also tested positive. Everyone who worked at the Mighty Sons of God site is under self- quarantine for 14 days, the district said.

A married Paterson couple and their 5-year-old child have tested positive for the coronavirus, marking New Jersey’s first pediatric case in the outbreakthe husband as in his 40s, the wife in her 30s. They have a second child, 4-years-old, who was tested for the virus Monday afternoon, Sayegh said.
