PTA Vision: OutreachPartner with a sister school that doesn't raise as much PTA money as we can. Perhaps do a joint event where they receive the bulk of the money raised. Have some events that are just fun, for the purpose of sharing community and spending time with a community that might be different from our own. Perhaps Glen Park, where the current principal is Jean Robertson (Grattan's former principal). Or perhaps Marshall, to whom we donated funds last year to help pay for stolen gardening items.PTA meeting Nov 12

PTA VisionTry to create more continuity of institutional knowledge. Each year the PTA board ends up "re-inventing the wheel" on some projects and grappling with questions that have probably been grappled with before. Is there a way to minimize this? How can we rely on teachers and staff, who often have this historical knowledge, to help us with this? How can we share information in such a way that it carries over year after year? One typical PTA board position that we haven't had recently is that of Historian: do we want to create this position?PTA meeting Nov 12

PTA Vision: Community & DiversityContinue to emphasize community, inclusion, empathy, and collective effort as a major part of our vision for Grattan, and try to get better at these things. PTA Vision: Community & DiversityEach year the incoming soccer teams form and fill up in the summer, and families who are later additions or who are not tech-savvy are excluded. Maybe we can fund a kindergarten soccer coach so that children from all races and socio-economic groups are included in the soccer teams.PTA meeting Nov 12
