Durham trails and bikeways are pretty narrow. For example, when the ATT goes into wake county, it goes from an asphalt to packed dirt trail and doubles in width. It becomes very pleasant at that point and is something Durham trails do not have at all. I'd prefer an asphalt trail, but if packed dirt is required to make it wider, that's my vote. Tying into our local walking trails would also be incredibly useful and unique for the areas. You either need to be very comfortable riding a bike around cars, or you need to drive to do any walking/hiking trails.
