The U.S. Small Business Administration not only provides low-interest loans to businesses impacted by disaster but also to individuals and nonprofits.

For homeowners -- up to $500K for repairs to the structure of the home, up to $100K for personal property (furniture, car, appliances, etc.) - 2.83% interest rate even for people without good credit scores.

For renters - up to $100K for personal property (furniture, car, appliances, etc.) - 2.83% interest rate even for people without good credit scores.

(For businesses - up to $2 mil for physical damage including structure, inventory, equipment, etc.)- 4% interest rate

Also a program called Economic Injury Disaster Loans for longer-term economic impact on local, small businesses during disaster recovery/rebuild. for payroll, inventory, marketing, etc.

SBA reps are present at DRC's.

If people have already paid for disaster related expenses on a credit card with a higher interest rate, they can use an SBA loan to pay of the card.

Must be a legal resident to receive this assistance.
