39 | Everything about him, from the purple-tipped, jet-black hair to the collection of chains, skulls and biohazard tags on his clothes just spells ‘trouble’. He took his preference for using pokémon normally shunned in favor of their cuter, fluffier counterparts and made it both a weapon and a style statement: not unlike wrestlers, when he sets foot into the arena he slides into a persona: brash, loud, occasionally insulting and with a certain aptitude for crazy, maniacal laughter. At Terrakion academy most of the other students came to enjoy the aptitude (perhaps due to his tendency to offer drinks after matches), and often even play along. This actually snowballed into the formation of a small club dedicated to hybrid contests/battles, where he often took part in matches. When /not/ in battle he still maintains the grin and the teasing aptitude, but the smile is playful instead of trying to have an “I want to eat your soul” appearance, and the teasing is mostly in good fun. He enjoys games of chance and a good drink, and sees no problems with familiarizing and making friends with the opponents outside of matches. Due to his choice of persona he can’t actually support the academy in an outright ‘we’re-all-friends-and-love-each-other’ kind of way, but he’s still extremely grateful for what they taught him and for nurturing what was both natural talent and the effort of his parents… so he tries to do the next best thing: winning. In the flashiest way possible, and with Terrakion academy symbol well in sight of everyone witnessing the fights. | Even team XXX members occasionally retire. And apparently when they retire they go make a sickeningly loving couple who breeds pokémon for a living. Poison pokémon, in this particular case. Which means that young Oleander’s first hug-friend was a surprisingly tame Arbok, and directly lead to a young boy with slightly skewed views on which pokémon were considered nice to keep out in polite company. He learned the very basics of pokémon training directly from his parents and continued training on-and-off with them until college: the result was that (at least as far as Poison Pokémon went) he could immediately enroll in some of the most advanced courses, since he had the basics almost completely covered. Terrakion college was really his only possible choice: he didn’t have nor cared to develop artistic talent of any kind, and the thought of having others decide what sort of team he was supposed to field was completely sickening to him - so he packed up and travelled half a region in order to live and learn at a school that would allow him to fight the way he wanted.

41 | He’ll never admit it, but he actually wants to break the “Cobalion System”. It annoys him on a personal level, since he believes that any team can be brought to victory with a trainer who can capitalize on their strengths. Still, the only way he can obtain a similar result is by winning - and not occasional fluke victories, but continuous, systematic wins. That objective is and will probably forever be quite far - after all, we all know it -does- work, even if type aces will never accept it. Another unlikely objective: If there is no poison-themed ‘Gym Challenge’, he’d like to get enough recognition to start one; something where a slow-acting poison acts as an hardcore timer for guessing the best tactics to defeat differently-patterned Arboks. Or.. well, to be honest, there’s time before giving -what- exactly it would be about serious thought. His mother kept telling him tales of an immense dragon who sailed oceans of acid and poison to carry humans to safety (Hey, team XXX. I never said they were -functional- parents, or good for a young child). Considering there is no known poison-typed legendary, this -is- considered a fairy tale by pretty much everyone. Still, the story fascinated him, and he’s likely to drop everything to chase for wild rumors regarding such a creature. On a more reasonable note, he'll go to great lengths to obtain naturally poison-shifted pokémon.

A more sane option would involve something like a single stat ace and Ace Trainer, or something to that effect. Poison Elementalist is on the table as well if personal adventuring ends up taking a lot of time for the character. Groomer is also a potential option.

45 | I'm ping-ponging between Inspired, Focused and Brutal Training. Might change without warning. In case there’s an overwhelming preference for Terrakion and you’d rather have us start separated, Virizion works with minimal adjustments. Favored class: Biology.
