I try to get the ammount of recharge time that i need in order to feel calm and communicate my needs to others in the touring party.
Getting to little alone time to recharge leadibg to a constant drainage of energy. It’s always loud, drunk people and others do not understand (even when i explain) how i function and what i need. I sleep less well, i don’t get my safe foods, constant overstimulation etc!
Yes and sometimes no.
They could listen to my needs. For example i get really anxious in messy places. So keeping the backstage tidy makes a huge difference. Whenever possible i set up my backstage far away from others or even get a day room if my finances allow. I have noise canceling earbuds and our TM does a great job helping me with all this. But it is a CONSTANT. Steuggle.
It all depends on what the struggle is but as a general rule of thumb we have to learn to listen to ourselves and unfortunstely we can count ln very little from the world aroubd us. People on a tourbus generally loves getting drunk and loud and have very little understanding of how that affects people ok the spektrum and being a minority means we wont be seen as important enough to make major changes. Luckily tours are generally short enough to be able ti cope.
Not really and also yes a lot!!!
