PEP BAND PERFORMANCES
19
The band will perform at eight regular season games in the fall. You are required to attend at least six. Extra games as well as playoff games will be considered extra credit and will also count toward a letter in band. If it is impossible to attend the minimum six games, there will be make-up assignments available to complete this portion of your grade. It is your responsibility to keep track of your attendance and obtain make up work if necessary.

PLAYING TESTS
22
In order to have a successful concert, each member of the band must be able to play his/her own part. For some this will mean extra practice at home to learn their band music. During the course of the year, each player may be asked to play a section of music alone during band. Playing tests will be announced in advance. Playing tests will not be assigned to individuals or sections who are working outside class to improve. Smart Music and Dropbox software will be used to complete some of these assignments.
23
24
QUIZZES/WRITTEN TESTS
25
During the course of the year, there may be short written assignments or quizzes to see that students have retained concepts discussed in class.
26
27
PARTICIPATION
28
A positive attitude is extremely important to your success in this class. This portion of your grade will be judged subjectively by the director. Attitude, behavior, class attendance, and being prepared for each rehearsal and performance will factor into this portion of your grade. TARDIES will lower your participation grade. All students should receive full credit in this category. Your participation will also decide borderline grades.
