Adobe Video Design I Adobe Video Design II Honors (2nd level)Students will learn how to edit video with Adobe Premiere Pro and even get certified by Adobe. By the end of the class, you will have produced your very own short film, and worked in a group to produce a show. *There are no pre-reqs for this at Laney*

Adobe Visual Design I Hon (1st level) Adobe Visual Design II Honors (2nd level) Project-based courses that expose students to information communication technology, career, and communication skills in both print and graphic design, using Adobe tools. This course is aligned to Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator certification.

Advanced Manufacturing I Advanced Manufacturing II Honors (2nd level) Students will be exposed to the principles, processes, and career choices related to manufacturing. Students will learn blueprint reading, mechanism technologies, the various types of fasteners and tools utilized in industrial manufacturing, as well as fundamentals of electronics

Business EssentialsStudents are introduced to realistic business and finance principles. Students will explore business ethics, customer relations, economics, financial analysis, human resources management, information management, marketing, operations, and business technology.

Business Management I (1st level) Business Management II Honors (2nd level) These expand student understanding of the management of information, knowledge, customer relationships, human resources, product-development, projects, quality and strategies. Students will work through ethical dilemmas, practice problem solving, and enhance their teamwork skills.

Child Development Early Childhood Education I (2 credits) (Required off campus work study)Students are introduced to responsible nurturing and basic applications of child development theory with children from infancy through age six. Areas of study include parenthood decisions, child care issues, prenatal development and care, and development and care of infants, toddlers, and children three through six. Students age 16 by October 1, who have completed Child Development, may take Early Childhood Education I where they will get experience in an early education and/or child care settings. An internship makes up 50 percent of instructional time.

Computer Science I (1st level) Computer Science II Honors (2nd level)
Students will be familiarized with the general concepts and thinking practices of computing, computer science, and information science. Students will learn computing concepts through authentic visual and interactive projects using visual programming languages.

Culinary Arts and Hospitality I (1st level) Culinary Arts and Hospitality II Honors (2nd & 3rd level at same time) Culinary Arts and Hospitality III Honors (Required off campus work study) Students are introduced to the hospitality and food service industry by learning about components of professional practice and building basic knowledge and skills in food preparation, baking, and food service operations. *Culinary Arts II & III are offered during two blocks consecutively to allow for off campus internships.*

Drafting I Honors Drafting - Architecture II Honors (2nd level) Drafting - Architecture lll Honors(3rd level) Introduces students to the use of simple and complex graphic tools used to communicate and understand ideas and concepts found in the areas of architecture,manufacturing, engineering, science, and mathematics, sketching, and computer assisted design (CAD) skills and techniques. As you progress, emphasis is placed on the use of 3D CAD tools and software such as REVI, in the design and execution of site and foundation plans, electrical/lighting plans, stair/railing design, bath and kitchen details, multi-level floor systems, site development, renderings and walkthroughs, as well as small commercial building and design. *Ideally the student should have taken Math 1 before*

Firefighter Technology IGather basic knowledge and skills required in firefighting. Develop skills in communications, use of personal protective equipment, forcible entry, fire extinguishers, and building construction. Perform basic firefighter skills associated with the knowledge obtained in this course. Gain the knowledge, skills, and industry credentials for careers in firefighter technology.

Foods and Nutrition I (1st level) Foods and Nutrition II Honors (2nd level) Students examine the nutritional needs of the individual. Students learn fundamentals of food production, kitchen and meal management, food groups and their preparation, and time and resource management.

Health Science I Honors (1st level) Health Science II Honors (2nd level) Nursing Fundamentals Honors (3rd level)Students are introduced to human anatomy & physiology, human body diseases & disorders, along with biomedical therapies.Students will learn health care skills, including current CPR and first aid training for healthcare professionals. Students in Nursing Fundamentals will follow the Nurse Aide I (NAI) curriculum to help prepare them for the National Nurse Aide Assessment (NNAAP).

Biomedical Technology I Honors (2nd level - Health Science I Prerequisite)Students will be challenged to investigate current trends in healthcare. Topics include ethics, forensic medicine, infectious diseases, organ transplants, cell biology and cancer, and biomedical research. *Prerequisite: Health Science I Honors*

Marketing (1st level) Students will develop an understanding of the processes involved from the creation to the consumption of products/services. Students learn skills in the areas of distribution, marketing-information management, market planning, pricing, product/service management, promotion, and selling.

Students explore engineering career opportunities and experiences as they solve engaging and challenging real-world problems. As they progress through the courses, students are exposed to the design process, research and analysis, teamwork, communication methods, global and human impacts, engineering standards, and technical documentation. Students use 3D solid modeling design software to help them design solutions to solve proposed problems and learn how to document their work and communicate solutions to peers and members of the professional community. ( Completion of Math I required to begin progression).
