I've spent more time, but only to download my behemoth of a pattern library, once I have that done and my backups organized, my usage will be way less than baseline.

I'm spending more time on classic rav, so I can download my library, sort stash etc. And reading the thread in DT to keep up to date! (you may now be my heroes for allowing discussion.) I waffled on the first question, as I really want transparency - but if it isn't accesible to affected users then there is no point in them being open (I hope this makes sense).

I am switching between classic skin and nu in an attempt to familiarize myself with it for the day when there is no choice. I do not react well to sudden change. My complaints are mainly about aesthetics and therefore not a priority.

New rav caused migraines, but the new options in settings are helping. That doesn’t make me feel better about how terrible their response has been. They have a lot to repair.

I’ve been spending more time reading the forums lately. Significantly less time using the site for browsing patterns. Not sure what my usage will be like when the drama dies down and if we’re left with an ugly, distracting database that no longer showcases content over web “design”

I started off just hating the new scheme but am now appalled by Ravelry's treatment of and attitude to people pointing out the issues around accessibility.

In the past 5 months I have been spending less time on Rav than average for the previous 13 years, because of life stuff that meant I had less time for the forums. My use other than forums was unchanged. Since the change, I have been spending more time on Rav than I have so far in 2020, so that I can advocate for those who are badly affected by the changes. I was using NuRav to the extent that I could (until nausea set in; I was up to about an hour) so that I could, as requested, make concrete suggestions about changes that would help. This lasted until the “checking in” blog post that gave a percentage of users who had gone back to Classic. At that point I went back to Classic in solidarity.

neurotypical AFAIK, eye strain after a few minutes on NURAV, headaches that require being off screen for at least one hour, never had this kind of reaction before to ANY web side, extremely concerned because TPTB are not communicating what is going on, extremely concerned about friends that cannot use NURAV at all and might be "let out in the cold"

Rav Has a history of poor accessibility, and this should have been the first priority of any update. Instead it is worse than ever, and there is absolutely no excuse. Professionals need to be hired and this situation needs to be addressed immediately.

It's not a matter of whether or not I "like" the new logo or colors. The new site hurts to use and this was brought up and ignored during beta testing.

I didn’t like the changes on day 1 but thought I might try to live with them. Then I had a very nasty migraine and several days of visual disturbance. I did not return to Ravelry until Classic was offered. I am shocked that people I respect and trust have been so cavalier in their treatment of disability and the gaslighting that I have seen going on.

I’m spending nearly no time actually using Rav (patterns, adding projects, helping with database) and hours reading discussion in DT and LSG. I’m angry and frustrated that there’s so little I can do and that the media aren’t picking the story up.

I've spent the same amount of time, but in different places, trying to gain an understanding of what is happening and if it is possible to stop the community implosion.
Rav is so much more than the sum of its parts, many high profile 'parts' are searching for other ways to maintain their businesses & it seems likely that future Rav will bear little resemblance to past Rav.
Much of the current anger and disappointment could have so easily been stopped if the roll out had been reversed at the first mention of physical harm, once a couple of days had passed with no apparent awareness being shown, and no real effective solution, it was too late.

Suffering from migraine triggers on new site. Use Ravelry for Business so new site is a pretty major problem. Currently expanding off Ravelry options for customers but am not in a position to withdraw from Ravelry completely which feels deeply hypocritical but can not afford (especially user COVID-influences circumstances) to stop.

Shortly after quarantine, I felt like I should take care of backing up all my Rav data. Just in case. I've had my full Rav library (2500+ patterns) downloaded for a few weeks. Today, with the new happyfunrainbowunicornfarts front page post, it's the straw that's breaking me. Rav has truly been my home online, I have no presence anywhere else. I am ND. I am tired.

I am still finding the site colors difficult for reading a long time. I have spent an inordinate amount of time reading the feedback threads, which if the redesign had been done properly, I would not be doing.

I noticed a bit of swim and light eye strain, and while it doesn't lead to a headache, I switched to classic anyway - in the vague hope TPTB were counting how many switched, before they made it the default again. It is so upsetting that they are so enamored with the new design that they seem not to care about those having migraines or seizures, and needing to leave the community they have professed to care so much about.

I'm spending more time because I am following the drama (more interesting that TV at Day 106 of isolation alone with a dog and only trips out for groceries). I am also downloading my library and will work on saving my project notes some how.

Neurotypical user, who got eyestrain and dizziness from using NuRav. The response to the issues from management has been unacceptable, silencing, and tone deaf. Until this is resolved or I leave in protest, I will not be buying pattern via Ravelry. I have already downloaded my library in preparation for leaving

Due to the functionality of this type of website, the overall color scheme should border on boring. The new icons and bright color scheme is great for merchandise but for the website... not so much. And while some of you may have an affiliation to the old blog style of the 90s- website design of the 90s should be left in the 90s... Website tech has improved not just due to aesthetics but accessibility too

My biggest problem with New Rav is my concern for those who physically cannot use it. I liked it when it launched and I think that ultimately things such as the icons and the colour scheme will probably stay. But the things that are triggering people’s conditions - movement, unclear shapes, animation, white spaces - need to be adapted or changed. I’m disappointed in TPTB and in those who seek to have everything changed to how they want it - I want a site that does not cause harm, everything else is just subjective.

The old Ravelry was user friendly, the new one isn't at all, but the powers that be won't admit it. It's a sad thing and once the old Rav disappears many people will possibly drift away too. It could have been such a great change, if only they had started with user input instead of considered it a token afterthought. The people in charge are always talking about 'our community', but that community was never consulted, but left in the dark and is now facing a horrible fait accompli. I feel stabbed in the back.

The changes that have been made to New Rav since it was first launched allow me to use it - though it's still not as comfortable an experience as classic Rav. I'm not a fan of the new aesthetic but functionality is more important so I'm trying to use New to see if I get used to it.

But the way this was handled with no notice, blindsiding members, lack of accredited and trained personnel certifying the website as accessible or usable was a bad decision as well as hiring a person with no real background or solid training in what she was hired to do. The lack of response and the appalling and insensitive nature of what communication there has been is unconscionable. Deleting, archiving and shutting down valid questions and comments instead of responding to the issues is bad business practice. If this keeps up there will be no Ravelry which would be a shame. The new site gives me eye strain and headaches so I am switched back to Classic Ravelry. I do check in along on the new Rav but see little to no improvement. The longer it goes on like this the worse it gets. Users are downloading their content and leaving. I am planning on downloading my library just in case the worst happens. As a designer, I use this site to test and connect with those who make my designs. Personally, it Is a great resource and source of inspiration and learning new techniques. It’s the only place on the web that is a “full service” type of place for fiber people. I just want them to acknowledge and fix the problems so we can all get back to our hooks, needles, spindles, etc.

Please hire someone who actually has the right training and education in accessibility issues to help you. There are some big mistakes that are causing health problems. You need outside help. Set up donations if needed to pay for this.

I haven't had any problems myself but I'm concerned about others. As a software developer I know how important accessibility is, and our updates me that Rav aren't treating it as a priority.

On a more personal note, I think the colour scheme is pretty ugly; there are too many colours that don't work together. But that wouldn't stop me using the site in its own.

I can deal with the things aesthetically I don't like about the new design. But what I can not tolerate is the utter lack of accountability shown by Cassidy, Jess, et. al. when it comes to the actual physical symptoms and HARM that so many people have noted in the now-archived feedback & accessibility threads. It smacks of "STFU and sit tf down." Most of Mary Heather's posts are complete "happy happy joy joy" bullshit. "We're sorry it's unusable for some of you (but we don't actually care and are only saying this as an attempt to get you guys to STFU and let it go.)" News flash Rav staff: People will NOT STFU about this. You all are way over your heads here and it shows.

I feel that New Rav has been rushed, skimped and has become a symbol of every time TPTB have failed the community, I've been her long enough to have witnessed so many times when they've had to be forced into supporting their users , and have only really done the bare minimum possible to placate everyone, throwing the burden on users to deal with the fallout. I'm saving all my data and patterns as insurance, because I feel like something's afoot, there's no reasonable explanation for not following SOP of rolling back to fix problems otherwise
