5/23/2012 12:47:3413,123When adding a new time, suggest you use the =NOW() function. Then cut and paste special -> values. THEN SUBTRACT ONE HOUR :-)CWH: why subtract an hour? The function returns computer local time...CWH: that said, ± one hour will not alter the curve much now that the scale is days :-)No, the function returns current time in Mountain View...it does make a difference in terms of trying to track the effect of specific actions. That said the slope is so consistent now I'm not sure I see much prospect of pulling out individual effectsIf you want to look at the effect of specific actions, you'll need the clickstream, which only wh.gov has. Maybe they'll give it if you ask?related point, there's a comment dropdown we should probably be using for this. CWH: Local time in Mt View is the same as local time in Pdx anyway. I think you're wrong about this, and line 35 should be 13:47, line 36 should be 13:56 (the actual time on my computer, and in Mt View, when I entered it), line 37 should be 14:19.

5/23/2012 22:39:4114,114CN, done as I've indicated aboveI still say this is wrong. Local time in Mt View and Pdx is the same. No need to subtract an hour. But its not local time is it? I thought PDT was local current time and PST is standard time (i.e. an hour behind the current clock). That is, you're currently on Pacific Daylight Time (the S in PST is for standard, not summer I thought)OK - I think we've established that the west coast time zone terminology is totally confusing. So its true that PST=PDT while PDT is in force but otherwise PST is an hour earlier...? Which is just f***ing bizarreUm, S=Standard, D=Daylight; D is one hour ahead of S; Mt View is on PDT, just like Portland (between March and November or thereabouts)... is that right? I think that's right. I hate time zones almost as much as I hate daylight savings.

5/23/2012 23:56:0014,129^^ this is all square with my understanding, yes^^ I thought that it was just that we are on PDT while it's in force, PST is always an hour earlier -- the problem seems to be that I said I was writing times down in PST, when in fact I was using PDT (just looking at the time on my computer)
