CAPTAINTeam founder with tough choices to make about who should stay or go, including themselves. "Your passion built this team. You may be at a low point now, but it’s up to you to lead the team through rebuilding. The other players are your friends, and you don’t want to cut any of them out. But you’ll need a roster good enough to claw its way back into the league, or you’re all out of a job. To complicate things, you just got a big offer. It’s a chance to play on a top team, making good money, but you’d be abandoning your teammates. For once, you don’t have the right call.

Leaving: Roster not good enough, good offer by other pro-team
Staying: you are the leader, these are friends"
"The Veteran helped you start the team back in the day. You rely on their support and advice, but they haven’t had their head in the game since they started dating someone.
The Star is your best player. They’ve got a major attitude problem though.
The Mascot is talented, but unserious and allergic to practice.
The Rookie is great in practice, but chokes in real games. You feel bad about their family problems, but is keeping a subpar player on the roster for personal reasons fair to everyone else?

Dream team: Captain, Veteran, Star
To be replaced: Mascot, Rookie"
A potential new sponsor would support the team for a season but it's a dubious offer challenging on moral grounds. Think about what the problem with the offer could be. It shouldn't be an easy solution for everything. Which player has to leave the team according to the sponsor? If there is a GM, the GM plays the dubious sponsor. Invite everybody to come in to Social Room and discuss the offer. End the discussion after maximum ten minutes. The game is soon over afterwards.

STARA huge talent with an even bigger anger problem. The league called you toxic. Maybe you do have an anger problem, but no one can deny your skill. You work harder and take winning more seriously than anyone. Still, this was the only team that would take a chance on you after your meltdown. You were going to carry them to victory, but instead you’re looking for a new job. You thought by now everyone would have forgotten about what happened, but the other teams aren’t returning your calls. You’re a god at this game dammit! So why can’t you ever win? You’ll cast the blame on anyone you can, but deep down you’re afraid the problem lies with you.

Leaving: too good for this team, you don't care that much, they don't kick out weak parts
Staying: you owe them, does anybody else want you?
The Captain is a good player, but needs to make the hard decisions about the roster. If they can’t, maybe you should.
The Veteran used to be your role model, but they’ve been slipping ever since they started hooking up with that groupie. Can you confide in them that you’re worried you might be the team’s problem?
You see the Rookie’s potential and have them on your practice regimen to overcome their mental block. If it weren’t for the Mascot’s constant interruptions, you’d have the Rookie on the right track. Their attempts to turn the Rookie into another slacker infuriate you.

Dream team: Captain, Star, Rookie
To be replaced: Mascot
You have a public video diary to communicate with your fans about misconceptions about you. If there is a GM let them be the voice reading YT comments under your new recording. Use the Game Room for your recording. Keep it to 3 minutes. Ask another player (e.g. MASCOT) in the off-game chat to join you in the room with camera off. They had watched the video diary and "bust" you after when you are done. Write in the off-game chat when room is open again.

VETERANAn old timer with a new life that may not fit into this game. When you joined the team, you were at the top of your game and life was good. But after a while, the lifestyle wears on you. Friends get kicked out to make room for fresh talent. The practice schedule demands all your time. Other priorities fall by the wayside; you have someone special you wish you could spend more time with. Can you find what made this fun again, or should you leave the game to the next generation?

Leaving: tired from gaming, tired from competition, significant other demands more time
Staying: they need your experience, some are friends
You helped the Captain build this team back in the day. Maybe you owe it to them to help rebuild.
On the other hand, the Star and the Mascot have made it clear how they feel about your significant other. If you want to stay, will your teammates accept your relationship?
The Rookie told you about their family problems, and you wish you could help. But do you help them stay in a game you’re no longer sure about, or do you help them reunite with their family?

Dream team: Captain, Veteran
To be replaced: Star, Mascot, Rookie
Your significant other wants to talk to you. Ask another player (e.g. CAPTAIN) in the off-game chat join you in the room with camera off and secretly overhearing your conversations. They "bust" you after ~3 minutes. If there is a GM, they play the significant other. If not, talk to the camera as if you are recording a voice message explaining your situation. Write in the off-game chat when the room is available again.

ROOKIEA kid with no idea what to do to if this team splits up.You bet everything on dropping out of school to become a pro. When you told your parents, they flipped and cut you off. So the team became your family. For months you spent every moment together, and you came to see each of them as a sibling or parent. Now this family is splitting up too. You blame yourself. You’re great in practice, but when it matters, your nerves get to you. If they give you another chance, you can make it up to them. There’s no good way to bring this up, but you’re running out of time. You’ve got to keep the whole team together.

Leaving: not good enough anyway, finding peace with your family, last chance to return to school
Staying: this is my family now, I could be the best gamer in the world
The Mascot and the Star are like older siblings to you. They both see you as a protege and want to help, but it's making you even more anxious. The Star has you on their nonstop practice regimen, while the Mascot tries to get you to blow it off and party. You wish you could get them on the same side.
The Captain is everyone’s stern parent, taking care of you but judging at the same time. You want to please them, but are scared of what they really think of you.
The Veteran’s the cool grandparent of the family, and your closest confidant. They know the most about your family situation. Maybe they can help.

Dream team: Captain, Veteran, Star, Mascot
To be replaced: Rookie
Before anybody would have guessed the team gets relegated from the professional league, an interview with you and a journalist was scheduled. Ask which player you would like to join (e.g. CAPTAIN) you at the Game Room. Everybody else should leave the room. If there is a GM, they play the journalist. If there is no GM, you "read" the journalist's questions from an email. Keep it to ~5 minutes. This is broadcasted live. Write in the off-game chat when room is open again.

MASCOTA fan favourite with fond memories of what the game was like before it became such serious business. You’re naturally talented and charming, always the fan favourite. You love the game, but you hate practice. Being liked and having a good time are more important to you than winning. After all, the dream wasn’t about sponsors or tournaments, and it definitely wasn’t about 80 hour practice weeks. It was about playing video games with your friends. All the team needs to get back on track is to remember why they got into this in the first place, and you’re just the person to remind them.

Leaving: too much stress in this pro-business, too much effort; not fun anymore
Staying: like being loved, friends
The Rookie is a natural just like you. All they need to get over their nerves is to relax.
The Star is straight up toxic, and they’re putting too much pressure on the Rookie with their strict practice schedule.
The Veteran’s mopey because they’re too worried about settling down when they should be having the time of their life.
The Captain wants to keep the team together, which is awesome, but you’re a little nervous that you’ll be first in line to be cut.

Dream team: Captain, Veteran
To be replaced: Star, Mascot
Standard procedure after every match is to discuss the match in a fun way. If there is a GM, they play an invited fan (Patreon pledge, you know). Ask two other players (e.g. ROOKIE, STAR), to join you in the Social Room and the others to leave. This is live on the internet and possibly quite a challenge: you lost everything and it shall be funny? Keep it to ~5 minutes. Write in the off-game chat when room is open again.
