Growing Through GriefAnglican care Waiapu Growing Through Grief is a social service of Anglican Care Waiapu which provides a peer support grief and loss program for children and young people called Seasons. The program supports those who are grieving from a death, family separation or divorce, imprisonment of a family member or other major family change. We also offer a program for the well children in the family of someone who has a life threatening illness. Programs are run each term, afterschool, for one hour a week in both Hastings and Taradale. Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga Mental Health Services A variety of services is offered to support whanau with a mental health diagnosis. Services range from: community support; respite for youth; supported accommodation; rehabilitation; emergency housing; psychiatry; psychology; nursing; social work support and cultural intervention. Initial assessments are made and depending on diagnosis and age a referral to the most appropriate in-house service or external agency will occur. The services provided in- house have differing age and diagnosis criteria. Referrals are welcome from GP, whanau, self or specialists.
