It's Christmas, so time to dust off the board game!
2
3
In scrabble you have seven tiles to play with, so the format will be a junior letters attack, but the scoring will have a scrabbly difference!
4
5
The apterous game score will be ignored and the score calculated from the scrabble value of the letters played - so OX will score you 9 points but IRONS will only score you 5.
6
7
Please read carefully! - Where you can really get an advantage over your opponent is the judicious use of bonus squares - in this game the 2nd letter of every third round (R3,6,9,12,15,18) will be a double letter score. The fifth letter on every fifth round (R5,10,15,20) will be a triple letter score. R15 will have both a double letter on tile 2, and a triple letter on tile 5.

In apterous, it's considerably easier to play out all your letters, so for this tournament the bonus for a seven letter word will be ten points.
22
23
Note that both players will score for their word, regardless of who wins the round. I will also manually check any disallowed words against the CSW dictionary and score them if allowed there (sadly CSW junior LA for a tourney is not a thing)
24
25
Games will be head to head in a straight knockout. You'll have two weeks to play each game, but I will set up new games when both players are ready.
