STUDENT DATA REPORTING TAB
6
This tab can be utilized to document preschool special education students COS scores being reported by the district from the time they enter preschool special education at the district through the time that the student either exits preschool special education because they are no longer a child with a disability or they are exiting preschool special education and transitioning to school age special education.
7
The data must include all children that the district is responsible for reporting to EMIS. This includes children being served through other entities (Head Start, ESC, etc.). The district of residence is always responsible for reporting Child Outcomes Summary.
8
Important! Date of exit that includes the year's data are children that exit between 7/1/(year of the beginning current school year) to 6/30/ (year of the end of the current school year). For example for the 2023 school year, this would only include children that exited preschool special education from 7/1/2022 to 6/30/2023.
9
Important! Only provide exit information in the cells if the answer to the Question in Column D is YES. Only children who receive at least 6 months of services will be counted in the district's Indicator 7 Profile.
10
A rating should be reported in each of the 3 Outcome Areas: Outcome 1: POSITIVE SOCIAL EMOTIONAL SKILLS (INCLUDING SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS, Outcome 2: ACQUISITION and USE of KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS, and Outcome 3: USE of APPROPRIATE BEHAVIORS to MEET NEEDS.
11
The Progress question is ALWAYS reported for any Child Outcome Summary Rating that is NOT the Entry. The response to the Progress must be reported with a Y or N in order for the child to count in the data calculation when the child exits.
12
The Category column (P) converts the rating at entry and the rating with the progress (Y/N) at exit into the appropriate category based on the data reported. This is provided as a quick reference when hovering over the cell. The Rating to Category Chart is also found in a separate sheet within this workbook.
13
RATING TO CATEGORY CHART
14
The comparison of entry and exit ratings and the answers to the progress question provide the information for all children’s Child Outcomes
Summary data to be converted into one of the following Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) reporting categories: A, B, C, D, E
15
Explanation for each category is provided on the Rating to Category Chart tab.
16
There can be impossible combinations that will not produce a category. Those combinations are listed and explanations are provided as to why these combinations cannot occur.
17
DISTRICT INDICATOR 7
18
The District Indicator 7 Tab will automatically collect the data that was entered into the Student Data Reporting Tab.
19
The data is calculated using the Indicator 7 district calculations that are represented for each Outcome area along with the 2 Summary Statements for each Outcome.
20
Summary Statement 1: Of those preschool children who entered the preschool program below age expectations in each outcome, the percent who substantially increased their rate of growth by the time they turned 6 years of age or exited the program.
21
Summary Statement 2: The percent of preschool children who were functioning within age expectations in each outcome by the time they turned years of age or exited the program.
22
The targets for each summary statement are listed for 2023, 2024, and 2025
23
Important! The only action needed in this tab is to select whether the district Met or Not Met each target for each Summary Statement for each outcome.
24
Based upon the data, the district will be able to view the results for their Indicator 7 District Profile from previous years data.
