The mission of the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders at the University of Maine is to cultivate competent and compassionate professionals, advance knowledge through innovative research, provide evidence-based clinical services that support individuals with communication and swallowing needs across the lifespan, and serve as a vital resource and advocate for the state and beyond. To achieve this, we promote critical thinking and inquiry through exceptional educational and clinical opportunities that integrate experiential learning, investigative scholarship, and collaborative partnerships.
