F-Zero GX Combined Time Attack Leaderboard (Max Speed+Snaking+Flying+Anything Else!)
3
This leaderboard contains over 7000 runs from all categories and other playstyles that have available video proof. On each course leaderboard, you can filter by
category, machine, machine type, setting, and whether side attacks are used or not. All times from all categories are ranked together, and there are also separate rankings for each major category.
4
5
I also managed to create Medal Tables to keep a count of how many top runs each player has and created a points system to rank players based on that. There is also a machine breakdown
table that counts how many times each machine was used on each track
6
7
I have also created 14 Ladders! - Open, Snaking and 4 variations of the Max Speed Category, two Non-Custom and two Custom-Only ladders and Non-Custom Ladders without Fat Shark and Black Bull runs.
Finally the playstyle popularized by muumu! Runs added here will automatically update the ladder(s) if it is a new PB for the category(ies).
8
9
To get your run added, you would just need to upload a video or screenshot your run. I will likely catch it and add it in if you upload it to YouTube. If a run isn't listed here, you can submit the run(s) here.
10
11
There will inevitably be omissions/mistakes/typos. If you spot one, feel free to contact me and point it out (contact info listed at the bottom).
12

23
9) The screenshot, video or description must include the exact time or it will not be added. Videos I initially added here are exempt from this rule.

Video guidelines
28
Runs with only screenshot proof won't be added to this spreadsheet to encouarge video uploads. The video may be unlisted if you prefer, but needs to be watchable by everyone at all times.
29
1) When the replay starts, press Z until the spedometer appears.
30
2) Please avoid the first person view and the view that pans out the furthest. Stick to either the default view or one level further back
31
3) Either in the description or video title, it would save me time if you include the time, machine name, machine setting and whether you used side attacks or not
32
4) For videos that are currently only on Twitch, consider exporting them to YouTube as I had to omit several times due to Twitch mis-handling old highlights, making them no longer watchable
33
For screenshots, show both the final time and the splits. Make sure it is easy to read.
34
If no time is listed anywhere, whether that is in the video itself or the video title/description, I will not add the video to the spreadsheet.
35
How to enable filtering and sorting
36
Look for the Filter button. Click on the small dropdown button next to it. Select "Create temporary filter view", and adjust the row number appropriately
37
After enabling it, you can then click on the drop down button for any of the columns to filter and sort runs.
38
Updates
39
October 11, 2021: The Leaderboard is ready for public viewing!
40
October 30, 2021: Each of the track ladders now has a new column that lists whether the machine used is custom or non-custom, making it much easier to filter runs in this way
41
November 4, 2021: Added two columns in each of the Medals sheets - Points per Run and Points per Medal (Has since been removed)
42
November 29, 2021: Added additional stat tracking for number of total videos in the Master/Updates sheet, and counted the number of custom and non-custom runs in the Machine Breakdown sheet.
I may expand on this in the future.
43
December 31, 2021: Ladders have been created! Each players' best times and their total times for each of the major and emerging categories can be seen in these ladders. These ladders only includes
times that has a video at the moment.
44
January 14, 2022: The ladders now shows World Records, Custom and Non Custom Records, and their totals in separate rows.
45
January 16, 2022: The Overall and Max Speed Medals tables now keeps count of Top 100 runs. This will likely be the highest Top X column that will be kept track of.
46
January 18, 2022: Added the Non-Custom Expanded Max Speed+ Ladders (with and without side attacks)
47
January 21, 2022: Added a Player Stats sheet that counts how many runs each player has on each track. Also added the Custom-Only Expanded Max Speed+ Ladders (with and without side attacks).
This may be the last set of ladders I'll be adding.
48
February 17, 2022: Started to implement Course Ranking and Average Rank in the ladders. (Update Feb 22: Additions finished on all ladders)
49
February 22, 2022: Started to implement columns in the Medals sheets that shows each players' points, medal and run count at the beginning of the month and year. (Update Feb 23: Implemented!)
50
May 3, 2022: Added Rank columns in the Medal tables (Points, Total Medals, Total Runs)
51
May 22, 2022: Added a Machine Rank (Max Speed) column in the course tables, ranking max speed runs done with the same machine.
52
Late May 2022: Added two pivot tables, one primarily sorted by Players, the other sorted by Machines.
53
June 21, 2022: Added hyperlinks on the times themselves, allowing you to load videos from the Ladder sheets!
54
June 23, 2022: Added the Body, Cockpit and Booster columns via VLOOKUP to a sheet with full list of custom machines (Credit GuyPerfect for list of custom machines with their parts)
55
July 29, 2022: Added the Best Rank and Worst Rank columns in all of the Ladders
56
August 18, 2022: The Max Speed No Side Attacks Medal table now keeps count of Top 75 runs. Some courses do not yet have 75 no side attack runs as of Aug 18 2022
57
October 8, 2022: Runs with specially named custom machines (IE Hard Banger, King Neptune) are now labeled as Custom* on the Machine Type column
58
March 30, 2023: The Worst Rank columns have been replaced with the WR Count column.
A new sheet has been added that displaying WR tables for each category and tallies the amount of WRs held by each player and machine
59
April 11, 2023: Two new ladders have been added - It's Expanded Max Speed, Non-Custom Only, but with Fat Shark and Black Bull NOT allowed and the No Side Attack version of it. The WR tables
have also been added for these categories.
60
December 12 2023: Over the past several weeks I've been implementing various updates in preparation to make a major update to the spreadsheet which would greatly simplify the process
of adding new runs to this leaderboard. I will continue to add new runs to RunList, but they might not be added to the Course sheets until I finish with the update due to columns no longer matching up properly
61
December 14 2023: The major update has been completed! Here are the major changes and additions that have been made:
1) Adding a new run to the RunList sheet will automatically update the Course Ladders now! I will soon upload a video demonstrating this.
2) Rankings for major categories are now calculated in the RunList tab. The 100% Only Max Speed categories have their own set of rankings now.
3) This spreadsheet now keeps track of the video upload date or the run date if that data exists. I have managed to find a way to scrape the Youtube upload date thanks to a handy web scraping tool.
I took some time to update current and former WR runs with the date they were set. Inevitably some runs have lost the exact date or it is completely unknown. Overtime I'll update more notable runs with their run dates.
4) Since this now tracks run/upload date, I am able to create two new sheets that shows all WR updates (plus the no SA WRs)! Of course it is incomplete and has inaccuracies due to inaccurate/missing dates
and this spreadsheet does not currently include runs without video/image proof.
5) I also added several new columns that tells if a run is or was a WR for all major categories. Using these columns I was planning on having a column that would say for each run if it is a current or former WR for
a category(ies), but it was a bit too overwhelming of a formula for me to create and perhaps a little over my current capabilities.
62
May 23 2024: I created a new sheet called NonRankedTimes. It lists all of the runs that are not shown in the course leaderboards either because proof is no longer available, or the player beat the time with the same
machine configuration within the same category. At some point in the future I plan on adding videos I initially did not include to this spreadsheet because the runs were not their PBs with the machine they used.
63
August 20 2024: I've created a new sheet called LadderRankAll, which consolidates each player's Time Rank, AF Rank, Total Time and Average Finish from all categories into a single spreadsheet. The Time Rank
and the Average Ranks from all categories are then averaged out and ranked to create a ranking that takes into account all categories, with each category currently being weighted evenly from each other.
64
October 17 2024: I have updated the course leaderboards so they no longer show any run that does not have a working proof link. This affects the category ladders, the medal tables, and the player+machine tables.
65
April 2 2025: I changed the "Played on Dolphin" column to "System" in preparation for the re-release of F-Zero GX on the Switch 2
66
June 9 2025: Created two new sheets for time comparisons against players and rank X times - PlayerVsPlayer and PlayerVsRankX. Features ability to customize the category, side attack usage, machine type,
which rank to display, and setting a date limit. For non-editors to adjust it, please make a copy of this spreadsheet via the File menu. Demonstration video
67
June 22 2025: Two new categories have been implemented - Expanded Max Speed and Max Speed that doesn't allow D and E rated body parts and disallows side attacks, popularized by muumu long ago!
68
June 24 2025: Created a new sheet called CompareAnyRecords, expanding upon the sheets I created on June 9 by allowing you to select specific machines, custom parts, and allows you to compare times across
different categories.
69
July 2, 2025: Created perhaps one final informational sheet called RunsReport. It provides a summary of the runs, represented by tables and pie charts, which can be filtered by Player, Machine, Category,
Custom Parts and date range. Gain insights on specific players, data on the most used machines on a particular course or category and more by utilizing this powerful tool!
70
August 22 2025: Due to performance issues, I have removed the majority of the time consuming formulas in the Medal Tables and hid the sheets until further notice. I am not sure if I will reinstate them.
71
FAQ
72
Q: Why not include times that do not have videos?
73
As much as I would have liked to include the rest of the times from FZC, the course pages do not list the machine name in text format, which makes data entry be too time consuming.
Also I think it would be better to require a video anyways to encourage players to capture and upload their runs.
74
75
Q: How do you decide whether a video gets added if someone has multiple runs on the same course with the same machine?
76
As long the run has a difference in machine setting, or side attack usage, it will be added even if the player has another run done with the same machine.
I did not include runs where the player has another run that is faster that uses the same machine, same setting and if both runs uses side attacks or not.
For runs where the only difference is the cockpit part, I will remove the slower run unless their times are close to each other.
77
78
Q: What is the Expanded Max Speed (DA<1.0) category (AKA Expanded Max Speed+)?
79
This is a category where you can use any setting as long the machine's Drift Accel stat is equal to or less than 1.0. This ensures that no machine will gain too much speed from snaking
and allows to do Max Speed styled runs in a much wider rage of settings with most machines, particularly customs with the Thunderbolt-V2 booster part. For the list of allowable settings
for each machine and custom booster, you can refer to KAZOON's spreadsheet below, who first came up with this category.
80
Kazoon's spreadsheet
81
82
Q: Do you plan on including splits and fast laps?
83
No, too much extra manual data entry work involved for thousands of runs
84
85
Q: Why is a/my run that has a video not listed here?
86
Chances are it's one of the following
87
1) The video is unlisted or set to private
88
2) The video is only in Twitch or a different website, which I have not looked through as much compared to YouTube
89
3) The old Twitch highlight no longer is watchable because Twitch sucks
90
4) The video is unlisted but in a playlist. I have not gone through every playlist yet to nab all unlisted videos
91
5) I don't know that it existed or you are a player I haven't heard about. Submit it or contact me and I'll add it
92
6) I do not add runs that don't list the exact times. You only need to mention it in the video title or description. Video or image proof of the listed time isn't required but highly recommended
93
94
Q: Why make this?
95
I wanted to give a proper home for any GX Time Attack run that isn't eligable for F-Zero Central or the Machines vs Staff Ghosts spreadsheets. While I could have waited for the new FZC site to
finish, it is uncertain when that will be finished, and much of the work I have done here would have been needed to be done at some point to be able to import the data to the site anyways.
Since I am enthusiastic about the concept I figured might I as well just get it done and at the same time provide a handy resource.
96
97
Q: Future plans?
98
If there is additional functionality and features I can feisably add then that is something I can do.
I will likely make a separate leaderboard for GX Unleashed someday (Update: Unleashed leaderboard has been created!). I can do the same for AX and GXTREME (Update: GXTREME leaderboard is now live!)
if there are enough runs and demand for it.
99

Q: How did you do this? It must have taken you ages to do!
