Template for recurring tasks
3
4
See the 'Tasks' sheet for the actual calendar.
5
6
7
Features:
8
1. List all recurring tasks (with instructions in note)
9
2. Support either tasks recurring on regular basis (e.g. every 6 months) or when necessary (e.g. on expiry).
10
3. Document when tasks have been performed (with extra info in note)
11
4. Show when task needs to be done next time
12
5. Highlight current month
13
6. Highlight overdue tasks
14
7. Highlight tasks defined but never performed
15
8. Highlight (in violet) cells that are missing a formula
16
17
18
Where the magic happens:
19
The sheet is a combination of a standard formula in the cells and conditional formatting.
20
The cell is colored blue if it's the current month, red if the task is overdue and violet if the cell is empty (e.g. a new row added without copy-pasting the standard formula).
21
22
Note: The standard formula as it currently is implemented requires an extra year before the first actual one, because of cell offsetting.

Usage instructions
26
27
Adding new tasks:
28
1. Add a task name to a new row
29
2. Copy-paste the standard formula in the calendar section of the row. (The cells will color violet as a warning if they are empty.)
30
3. Insert a note (right click --> Insert note) to the cell and type in the description. The description should define what needs to be done to consider the task done.
31
4. Add an owner (name will color red as a warning if task has never been performed)
32
5. Add the cycle time (e.g. every 6 or 12 months) or mark when the task should be done using '! ! !' (three exclamation points separated by spaces)
33
34
Marking a task done:
35
1. Add your initials to the appropriate cell
36
2. Add a note (right click --> Insert note) to the cell and add necessary details, such as date when done, findings and actions (e.g. management team approval) etc.
37
If the task had already expired (was marked for a previous month), the previous '! ! !' mark can be replaced with a whitespace character.
38
39
Marking task to be done at a specific time:
40
To mark a task to be done at a specific time, insert '! ! !' (three exclamation points separated by spaces) in the appropriate cell. This is also used in cases where tasks are done 'as needed' without a specific schedule.
