SIGN UP FOR THE TIME YOU'D LIKE TO ARRIVE, AND THE TABLE WILL BE YOURS FOR THE NIGHT. BY REGISTERING, YOU ARE SAVING YOUR SPOT, BUT ALSO COMMITTING TO ATTEND OR TO FIND A REPLACEMENT.

The price of the dinner is $35 per person, and the fee will be collected at the door. All proceeds, and any additional donations, will be used for programming at the Maple Corner Community Center.

STARTERS:

SHAANXI CRISPY, SPICY TOFU: bean curd squares flavored with crushed cumin, peppercorn and garlic, topped with scallion, cilantro and Hoisin sauce, and browned on a hot griddle. (Vegetarian)

BEIJING PORK FRIED DUMPLINGS: traditional street food from China's capital, served with a soy, scallion and chili-oil sauce.

HANGZHOU CABBAGE: a popular, southeast China salad with Napa cabbage, red bell pepper, flavored with a soy, rice wine and sesame oil dressing. (Vegetarian)

SOUP:

PA WAN DOU TANG:
Hot & Sour Soup - A lively broth with Shiitake Mushrooms, Lilybuds, & Tofu, topped with Scallions & Sesame Oil (Vegetarian).

MAINS:

BRAISED CATFISH:
A southern Chinese delicacy gently cooked in a caramelized sauce of shallots, scallions, pepper flakes, sugar and Vietnamese fish sauce.

THAI-BARBECUED CHICKEN: Marinated in thick soy and lime juice, these chicken thighs are cooked and slightly blackened over a flaming outdoor grill.

STIR-FRIED BOK CHOY: One of China's best-known vegetables is cooked in a fiery wok and gently flavored with ginger, garlic and soy and a splash of sesame oil. (Vegetarian)

HUNAN SMACKED CUCUMBERS: A favorite in the birthplace of Mao Tse Tung, a province that like Sichuan is known for its spicy foods, this is actually a cooling dish of cucumbers dressed with soy, sesame, rice vinegar and cilantro.

GOLD AND SILVER FRIED RICE: A southern China side dish with hints of both sea and land, featuring dried seaweed, egg, cashews and shitake mushrooms. (Vegetarian).

ORANGE SLICES:
The fruit grows where the sun shines, from Florida to California to Chengdu.

FORTUNE COOKIES:
They are an American -- not Chinese -- sweet-tooth invention, but so what? They're fun!

The dinner will be served family style, and we ask that all diners behave themselves and practice the best of manners.

Note: There will two tables of 8 starting at 530 and again at 730. All other times have one table.
