Thank you for taking part in this Christmas Collection and helping to spread some festive cheer to those most in need.

Please see the tabs on this spreadsheet for a list of items needed, we have broken these down into categories. Please indicate on the relevant tab which item(s) you are donating so we can keep track of which items have already been collected. We need multiples of all items so if you are donating more than one of the same item please indicate how many of the item you are donating. If an item is highlighted in pink it is no longer needed so please choose an alternative item. You can obtain the items from any source but we ask that you try and support local businesses where possible. Please ensure that all items are delivered to a collection point before the deadline dates of the charities you wish to support below. The York Cares office based in Careers and Placements at the University of York is the central collection point. Items can be dropped off at the Information Desk, Monday - Friday 10am - 5pm. Your organisation may also have a collection point, please see below for a list of employers who have internal collection points: Portakabin, Grand Central, Benenden Health, City of York Council (by Cafe West), York St John University.

Door 84 is a youth and community hub in York, creating bridges between young people, families, parents and carers. They provide opportunities and spaces for people to come together, achieve their potential and lead happy, safe and fulfilled lives.

KYRA Women's Project 28 November

Kyra helps vulnerable women make positive changes in their lives, often after domestic abuse or mentall illness, through courses and activities that build confidence and provide new skills.

RAY Refugee Action York 7 December

RAY aims to work with organisations in the city to ensure York is a welcoming and inclusive place, especially for those who come here fleeing persecution. They believe that asylum seekers, refugees and migrants make a positive contribution to our community.

SASH Safe and Sound Homes 9 December

SASH helps young people aged 16-25 who are facing homelessness by providing safe accommodation within the homes of 'hosts'. This could be either overnight or for a few days as a part of their emergency Nightstop service, or for several months as part of the Supported Lodging Scheme.

Spirit of Christmas28 November

Spirit of Christmas charity promotes education, family and community interaction through projects and events including their Christmas Toy Bank. They cater for low-income families, working with a number of other organisations and schools.

The Island is a well-established children's charity, supporting some of York's most disadvantaged, vulnerable and isolated young people to realise their potential through positive mentoring relationships and activities.

Peasholme Resettlement Centre15 December

Peasholme Resettlement Centre is a homeless hostel provding resettlement to its residents. They also provide emergency provisions
such as mattresses and food to those who would otherwise be sleeping rough.

Speak Up15 December

Speak Up is York's Children's Rights and Advocacy Service.They promote children's rights and entitlements, provide advocacy for children
and young people who can access this support, and faciliate participation opporutnties for children and young people.

Howe Hill Hostel 15 December

Howe Hill is a homeles hostle for young people aged 16-25. They support 32 resident as well as four children aged 3 and under.
They also support up to 8 people with emergency accomodation.

Changing Lives helps those facing challenging cirmcumstances to make positive change, for good. In York they work with people
experiencing homelessness to provide support such as skills and training to enable them to successfully move forward into permanent housing.

York Foodbank helps local people in need of emergency food at six locations across the city. They are a part of a network of Foodbanks
across the UK who are working to combat hunger and poverty.

Community Links supports people with a mental health diagnosis who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. They support people to move
from homeless hostles to their own tenancy
