You are not asking directly for yourself but you are setting out a 'new' way of thinking for them. By introducing other professionals to their client company leadership---it shows they are resourceful, they are looking at the 'big' picture for their client's strategic growth and it could open up another client for themselves. Meaning, that when they introduce you to their client; the intention is that their client could introduce you to someone they know and then there may be a place to bring that initial consultant into someone else that you are now working with? (Example: Natalie introduces you to the CEO or a board member; that CEO introduces you to someone they know and you get that gig and bring Natalie in for something else).
