This document currently is in comment-only mode for everyone; request access to edit if you have FIRSTHAND EXPERIENCE with an alternative.
5
Please request edit access via this spreadsheet. It may take up to 12 hours to grant access. Click the green "Comment only" button to reveal the hidden "REQUEST EDIT ACCESS" control.
6
7
Note (also mentioned in ❓ notes on sheets): a GREEN checked cell indicates "feature known present"; a RED unchecked cell indicates "feature known NOT present"; a WHITE unchecked cell means "don't know/not sure"
8
Thoughts on that as comments HERE.

The basic idea: that people who know about an alternative can add it and fill in features. Filling in one you've heard about, but haven't used and don't know the feature set for isn't very useful.
12
Also, some protocols support features that no actual usable service has enabled, so we want to include real "alternatives": URL's you can go to in order to start doing things you've been doing on Google+.
13
14
This spreadsheet has three sheets:
15
Alternatives:
16
Other sheets pull from this one.
17
So it's important to add alternatives here first; adding columns directly to the other sheets will mess things up!
18
Please add any comments about additions or changes to the Alternatives sheet as comments on cell A1.
19
20
Feature comparison has two parts:
21
Features in Google+
22
Please add comments to the cells naming features where the feature is unclear, or it's hard to decide if an alternative has it.
23
Please add comments to the A column cell with the name of a feature section if you think a feature should be added to the comparison.
24
Add comments to C1 ("Alternatives") if you think a feature should be added and you don't know what section it should go in.
25
Please add a comment to the A1 column if you have an overall suggestion on a sheet.
26
27
Features not suported by Google+
28
These will be dependent on the alternatives as they're added. It's possible they can't be categorized like the other sheet, or that I'll have to come behind and categorize later. But if you can think of some obvious ones, please comment on that sheet.

Things we need help with:
31
1. Accessibility features — what does Google+ support that we need to check for with others? What do some alternatives support that we need to check others for?
32
2. Besides "following/subscribing/friending" and "circles-like groups", what "following-related features" or "friend-related features" should be included?
