32The Power of PulleysDifferent combinations of pulleys will be used to lift incredibly heavy loads. Using the models, students will explain how the pulley systems provide so much mechanical advantage, and comment about their velocity ratio and factors affecting their efficiency.Working ModelThe power of pulleysGyani* pulleys
* strings/ropes to wind around the pulleys
* weights to act as load and effort
* framework to support the pulleys

7Lie DetectorThis electronic lie detector measures the change in resistance of the test subject's skin, when he is lying. The principle is that when we lie, we become anxious and tend to sweat more, thereby causing a decrease in the skin resistance. A transistor is used to amplify the change in current due to the change in resistance of the skin, and this amplified output of the transistor is fed to a galvanometer which shows a deflection when the subject is lying.Working modelLie DetectorGyani Puneeth, Vamsi, Mukunth10 ICIntegrated Lab 3

8Physics through Simulations - using Python/Easy java SimulationsPhysics concepts are understood and demonstrated using simulations on the computer written using the python programming language.

SUMMARY:
Many experiments cannot be done physically in the lab due to various reasons. In such cases, we can do the experiment virtually by simulating it on the computer. We will show you how you can easily create the simulations for experiments by using some free open-source software like Easy Java Simulations and programming languages like Python.
