6 | The Colorado Academic Standards (CAS) help teachers ensure their students have the skills and knowledge they need to be on course toward college or career readiness. The CCSD Scope and Sequence identifies the Grade Level Expectations (GLE) and Evidence Outcomes (EO) providing goals for student learning at each grading period. The Grade Level Expectations and Evidence Outcomes identified through the CCSD Scope and Sequence establish what students learn, but they do not identify how teachers should teach. The intent of the Scope and Sequence is to provide teacher teams a starting point for collaboration and unit planning. | |||||||||||

10 | The 2020 Colorado Academic Standards for Reading, Writing, and Communicating are categorized by the following four standards: | |||||||||||

12 | Grade Level Expectations (GLEs) are linked within each standard. Each GLE is present in each quarter. Evidence Outcomes (ie, a., b., c.) are named in the quarter in which they are a focus and assessed. Some Evidence Outcomes repeat in multiple quarters, some do not. Many Evidence Outcomes have sub-topics listed underneath, identified with a Roman numeral. These sub-topics of Evidence Outcomes offer more specific content. See sample below: | |||||||||||
