How to use it

1. Go to the 'Scorecard' tab and score a provider's answer to all 17 questions.

2. Score every answer 0, 1 or 2: 2 = Verified (portal check / document / contract clause); 1 = Needs evidence (a claim with nothing yet to check); 0 = Red flag (a red-flag answer or no answer).

3. The sheet weights the categories automatically: Entity x3, Statutory payroll x3, Liability/data/PE x3, Termination x2, Labour Code & state x2, IP & service x2.

4. Knock-outs: any 0 in Entity, Statutory payroll, or Liability/data/PE fails the provider, whatever the total.

5. Pass mark: at least 75% of the maximum weighted score of 90 (so 67.5 or more).

6. Use the 'Compare providers' tab to score up to three side by side; note how many days each took to send evidence (slow evidence is itself a signal).

7. Send every shortlisted provider the message on the 'Due-diligence email' tab first.
