Work together on a deep connecting level with residents to even the surface that we stand on. Holding those responsible to face justice as well as greater punishment to the bad apples in law enforcement who break the law. To be sworn into law enforcement officers must protect our rights and enforce the law. Should we as members of the community trust law enforcement when they are the ones sometimes breaking the law? I dont trust many officers due to unconstitutional unnecessary personal events in the past. We have no choice but to trust, these are the cards we were dealt. I dont want my children growing up thinking of law enforcement as super villians and bullies. Should Develope a type of community made Human Resources board in different areas that rewards officers in response to positive actions and outcomes. The community based HR should work together with Internal Affairs investigate possible crimes, threats, complaints, abusing power, misconduct and unconstitutional actions of an officer.

I am a CPAB Member and have been weighing in on the future of CPAB...or shall I say trying to weigh in. It appears the structure of CPAB is being rewritten without any weigh in from Community Members. The LAPD cannot redesign a Board Structure without this weigh in. The CPAB program is critical to bridging the gap in the Community between Law Enforcement and Community Stake Holders. This new Chief must have a willingness to engage community members to understand each community otherwise it continues to be two ships passing in the night.
