kindest person. I could tell that he was ready to fall asleep straight
on the floor from 3 days of convention work, yet he still tried his
best to put in energy to greet the remaining fans in line for his
autograph (there were a lot left and I honestly feel bad for him) He
asked if I wanted a picture and a hug before he hugged me, and was very

friends and friends of friends. In all honesty he conducted himself in
a very arrogant way, only seemed to want to meet the fans who already
knew him and arranged it, didn't even give the rest of a word. Imo he
seemed to deeply enjoy being in the limelight and was getting a bit
touchy and huggy for an old dude with a bunch of minors. All I can
really say for definite was that he very much loved the sound of his

that was refused and then shoved at me and when I corrected him on my
pronouns (I am FTM male) he blatantly refused to use them. Also,
literally so many people from SacAnime in California have horror

I have second hand knowledge about Greg and Vic from my boyfriend. He
happened to be at a party with Greg while he was ranting about Vic.This
was back in `07,but basically from the gist of it Greg hated Vic
because he saw him as a Jesus pushing, gay-hating, sellout,while Greg
was a fun-loving, party going, gay man. Basically, they just didn't get
along. My bf got to see them giving each other the stink eye too. Quote

panel in which a large number of molestation/rape jokes were spewed and
from what i saw there were a good number of minors in the audience

met Chris Cason, who VA'd for our favourite show and we were excited as
hell to meet, who got unreasonably irritated (at 12 year olds!) when we

many voices, but I know him doing Brook from One Piece. I walked up,
nervous and went "YOHOHOHOHO!" Brook's signature laugh ( and in Brook's
voice), he responded back enthusiastically and happily. And we even had
a small conversation as well about how he is doing Brook. When I left,

One year at ACEN I went to his `sunday morning with vic' panel. I've
never really been a fan, but I thought I'd check it out. He mostly
talked about his past with god and about how he was raised. At one
point he said something like 'all of you deserve to be loved' and one
of the girls there was crying so hard she had to leave. He wasn't rude
as much as.. odd I guess I would say. He said he should be able to do
panels like this because he's not forcing anybody to go. And laughed
when he told us some cons weren't comfortable with him doing this
panel. In other videos of him, he mocks people for saying something he
disagrees with and he did the same at this panel.
He comes off as somebody who's using his popularity with impressionable
teenagers to talk about religion. I don't think he would've even gotten
the panel if he weren't so popular. My point is that him using his fame
to talk about god can exclude a lot of fans that don't share his
beliefs. And based off of the way he handles the subject, I think he
does it on purpose.

hi! first off, i would like to say that i already posted this story
back in 2011, on an RP blog i have lost interest in and deleted. it was
reblogged by a tumblr that posts convention horror stories, but i can't
remember the url of that blog now and it may be deleted, too. this
story may still be floating around somewhere, or it may be familiar to
people who have been on tumblr for several years now. i apologize for
the re-tell if that's the case, although i never told the story in this
much detail. i usually tell this to be funny about how annoying he is
and how much i don't like him, but in this case i'm going to be
serious.
secondly, i apologize for the long post. i never did figure out how to
not be so long-winded.
when i was 15 or 16, i went to nan desu kan in denver, colorado. at
this point i was already exiting my anime stage - meaning i was by no
means a fan of vic's. i knew he was one of the guests that year, but
all this meant for me was that i had to avoid the hall guests sign
autographs in. no big deal, right? that's what i did.
on the second day of the convention, i was waiting in line for the
elevators. a hug line was happening nearby but i was fairly clearly not
part of it. con operators moved the line a little because it was
blocking one of the hallways, meaning it got directed into the way of
the elevators. numerous people thought that i was in the hug line and
tried to hug me, but i said "no thank you" politely and they moved on.
the hug line kinda dispersed.
(for clarity, i bolded how i vocalized my displeasure.)
then some older guy came up to me with his arms open. i said, "no thank
you, i'm in line for the elevators." he kept coming, so i put my hand
out, which did not deter him at all. i'm very small, i was a teenager,
and he was an adult, so... this didn't really do anything. i said
"please stop hugging me" and he continued to hug me painfully tight,
even lifting me off my feet (as a short person, i hate that. never do
that). by this point i was already pissed and continually asking him to
"stop" and "let go", and even squirmed said loudly "put me the fuck
down", but he only let me go when he was good and ready to. i thought
he would move on and go back to his fans.
the elevator came and i stepped into the elevator and turned around to
hit the button for my floor... and noticed he followed me into the
elevator. because he had been hugging me for so long, everyone else in
line for the elevator had already gone. we were alone. i stayed quiet
but he immediately started talking to me, mostly to plug his own stuff.
he asked me if i knew who we was, but by this point i had already
figured it out - being a former fan of his, i had recognized the jeans
he was wearing. (you know the ones. yeah, those.)
i said i didn't know him, so he kept trying to name animes he had been
in. i kept saying no, never seen it - lying sometimes. i think maybe he
knew i was lying because he kept ribbing me. he started saying i should
buy the DVDs for the animes he had been in, and i said i wasn't really
an anime fan and i was just here because my friends were. all the way
up to my floor, he kept hassling me to buy stuff and become a fan. he
kept bragging about having "a lot of fangirls" - referring to the
rangers. i went silent and messed around on my phone the rest of the
ride while he talked.
finally we got to my floor and i thought he would just keep cruising
the elevators. instead, he followed me out into the little lobby that's
on all the floors of the mariott and partially down the hall.
it was clear he intended to follow me to my hotel room, which scared
the shit out of me.
(aside: again, i could not have been over 16 years old. i have always
looked extremely young. i'm 22 now, and i STILL look like i'm fucking
12. i've been hassled for having a "fake ID" numerous times, i am
constantly asked what grade i'm in, why i'm doing adult things, etc.
i've gotten pulled over simply for looking too young to drive. there
was no possible "but he thought you were 18+!!!" here.)
the only reason he did not actually follow me back to my hotel room is
because i'm extremely, extremely lucky and a group of people who were
fans of his came out of their room and distracted him. i went to my
hotel room and my neutral ex-fan dislike of him has been hatred ever
since.
TL;DR -- when i was underage, vic hugged me against my will despite
numerous loud protests, followed me into an elevator alone, hassled me
to buy his DVDs despite clear disinterest, and very nearly tried to
follow me back to my hotel room.

It was the year 2006 in Corpus Christi, Texas at a convention called
Realmscon. I was a thirteen year old fangirl. It was my first
convention, I was from a small town area, and never had I been exposed
to so much anime in one place. More than anything I was excited about
meeting the voice actor behind one of my favorite animes at the time:
Vic Mignogna. Now, if you're at the age of thirteen or past that, you
probably recall doing some pretty stupid things. In my case I did a
pretty darn stupid thing that I definitely wish I hadn't done but, hey.
It happened.
I was at a panel where Vic and the other VA guests were answering
questions. I was off to the corner standing because there were no
chairs with all my friends where they had to endure the sound of me
getting excited about meeting him once questions were over. My friends,
who were skeptical at how great a person Vic was, doubted that he was
truly a kind person like all the things I had said. So I made a bet.
The words right out of my mouth were, "I bet all my money Vic will let
me lick his hand."
So I approached Vic, this poor man who was about to meet the maximum
creep level of all fangirls, who turned to me and said "Hello!" the
moment he saw me standing there. As nervous as can be I asked in a very
stern voice, "Can I lick your hand?" He gave me exactly the look you
would expect anyone else would give you when you ask to lick their
hand. He raised his eyebrows, looked at his hands, looked at me, and
gave me a very worried look. "Oh, no, sweetie I don't think you really
want to... err... lick my hand. I mean-" Before he could even finish, I
break into tears. "Oh please please you have to let me, I bet all my
money that you would let me do it and if you don't I'm going to lose
all my money and my friends will never let me live it down and- and-!!"
You get the idea. Sure enough with a little more sobbing and
convincing, he finally let it happen. He stuck his hand out as far away
as possible, put his hand over his eyes, and I licked the back of his
hand just above the wrist.
It was a story that would be told across many conventions, one that
even I forgot about for a couple years (probably because I thought
nothing of it at the time) that quickly came back to haunt me.
Now, fortunately, the story doesn't end here. Over the years I ended up
bumping into Vic at a number of other cons. In Austin, Dallas, and in
Corpus again; even a con I went up to in Ohio as well. Each time I've
greeted him and he's greeted me, unable to forget that creepy fan that
went too far. Honestly, I'm surprised he's been in good humor about it.
He usually signs my stuff as "Hand-Licker" and gets a hug and a picture
with me nearly every time we meet. Most times I've met him as a
fangirl, but when he returns to Realmscon I have the joy of meeting him
as one of the staff working at Realmscon now. Vic is still a
surprisingly good person behind the scenes.
Sure, he can get stressful and a little demanding when it comes to
setting up certain panels and his concerts, but that's to be expected.
He's putting on a show for his fans and he doesn't want them to be
disappointed or have his schedule of events thrown off. He's a man who
is very appreciative of his fans and loves the industry he works in.
The only time I can really recall seeing him angry was while setting up
for a concert that almost got delayed and a lack of coordination in our
own staff. Which, again, is a completely rational thing to get pretty
upset about.
In regards to his faith... Yes, Vic is a religious person but he
doesn't force it onto anyone. He wears crosses, he sells CDs of him
narrating religious text, he sometimes does a bible study group on
Sunday at cons, and that's about the extent of it. The man is well
aware he has beliefs that not everyone may agree with and doesn't go
beyond giving the option to anyone that wants it. He (as far as I have
experienced) doesn't bring up religious debate or faith into any of his
panels, which is what would be expected of someone trying to act
professional. Yes, due to his faith, I wouldn't be surprised if he
comes off as homophobic or against any kind of homosexuality (a
homophobe probably wouldn't narrate a gay werewolf novel), but let's
also look at it from his perspective: can you imagine how often he is
subjected to yaoi fangirl stuff? He handles it all in stride and
doesn't tell anyone they're wrong for liking it, he simply expresses
he's not in full agreement with some fangirl shipping choices. I
honestly can't believe he's that homophobic given he has given into
voicing some fanservice things at panels, I think it's just he probably
doesn't agree with how some people portray/handle characters he's spent
time acting as. I mean if you don't know they guy very well, he loves
and remembers all the characters he voices!
And finally we get to how he handles his fans. I've heard people
mention he touches them in some not-so-great ways, but I find that
extremely difficult to believe. I've stood at the back of lines at many
conventions watching fan after fan take pictures with him and I've
taken several pictures with him myself. Usually he isn't the
touchy-feely one at all: it's the fans. He tends to ask if it's okay to
hug someone before doing so, though sometimes there's no need to; his
fans usually ask for it first. Even when I took a picture him this
year, where I had the chance to introduce him to my husband, he asked
permission to hug me and have a picture with me to put on Twitter. I've
heard a lot of people pin him as a pedophile due to his fangirl group,
The Risembool Rangers, but keep in mind that he does not ask them to do
anything; they organize and show up at cons themselves and follow him
around like a pack of animals.
Thank you for taking the time to read my Vic experience over the years.
I wouldn't say I know him personally, or that my words make up for any
negative experiences others have had, but this has been a summary of
everything I know and have experienced first-hand. Vic is, like any
other voice actor, simply someone who appreciates his fanbase and does
have a huge popularity that rivals other VAs. He's a pretty normal guy
as far as I can judge and I don't think a lot of the claims I've seen
are true. Most of them have been one person stating a negative
experience that turned into a rumor that got worse and worse down the
line. Most of the rants/hate I read these days are people who have
never met him and only know him from rumors they've read online. I hope
this gives anyone a better understanding on Vic, he's probably not the
person a lot of people make him out to be.

Anonymous asked: I remember being at a con, in his panel. There was a
girl up front talking loud and being disruptive. He respectfully asked
her not to talk so loud or if she needed to talk, do it in the back (to
not upset the panel)-something anyone would ask. This same girl
confronted him later asking for an apology for him 'telling her to shut
up and embarrassing her' which he didn't say that to her at all or do
that. So, I can see how these stories get bent or twisted out of hand..

Anonymous asked: If you don't fell comfort with Vic or anyone touching
you, tell them to stop. If they refuse, you have all rights to yell,
scream and ask someone to pull the creep away from you. If you know
that Vic, or any celebrity, is using his star power to creep on
underage girls, report them to convention authorities. It just shocks
me that we have so many stories where Vic is getting fresh with an
underage girl and no one does anything. Even tell him a firm "No" would

Anonymous asked: This blog needs to keep going. I was his PA for
Hal-con last year and he treated everyone (including staff and con
goers) absolutely horridly. Between his outrageous demands for imported
waters and other snack foods and his blocking of every major hallway
when he walked around with his little fan entourage, it was deplorable.
Also, I can confirm he does creep on the minors, HEAVILY. I've seen him
grab the chests of minors while he was taking photos with them and
refuse to sign male fans merch.
