15	Definitely does not know EA	0	- Participant says the are unsure what EA is and that they have only heard the term - Participant says that their response is a guess - Participant gives an inaccurate definition
16	Some evidence of knowing EA but did not give a sufficiently accurate definition	1	- Participant writes about concepts relevant to EA but is missing key points to demonstrate an understanding of EA. - For example, someone might write about using evidence to make decisions to help people but not mention maximizing good
17	Actually knows EA	2	- Participant mentions two key points: (1) using evidence/logic/reason to (2) do the most good - OR participant mentions multiple key concepts such donations based on cost effectiveness, longtermism, measuring interventions, career choices to do the most good
