Each week there shall be 55 minutes for Parent Engagement activities as set forth below. Teachers and paraprofessionals can choose from the listed activities over the course of the year and shall be permitted to work remotely. The 55 minutes of Parent Engagement need not be performed consecutively. Teachers and paraprofessionals will regularly record and submit documentation identifying the remote Parent Engagement time and activities using this form.

Here are the expectations around family outreach for the 2023-2024 school year.

MIN. 4 CALLS (with actual conversations) HOME PER WEEK: All staff are expected to make at least 4 calls home per week (ideally split equitably between supportive phone calls to improve behavioral/academic performance and celebration phone calls sharing student academic achievements with the home).

AT LEAST A ONCE PER MP EMAIL NEWSLETTER: All staff are also expected to send a brief communications to all families (so please DO collect their emails) regarding upcoming class events - at least once per marking period. Use this 55 minutes to write and send this email.

SUBMIT & TALLY TIME: Please make sure your allotted time tallies to 55min each week and this log is completed each week by the EOD on Mondays. So, record all interactions Monday - Sunday, with each Monday being the first day of a new week.
