WMYZExample project: Uploading historical maps of my country from the collections of Regional Museum of RegioniaSandra Fauconniersandra@wikimedia.yzAlex Johnson, GLAM coordinator of our chapterAround November 2018 - March 2019 (possibly later)The Regional Museum of RegioniaWe will upload approx. 300 historical maps of the provinces of Regionia, Provincia and Localito to Wikimedia Commons.François le Français (from WMFE)We don't have many historical maps of these regions on Commons and Wikipedia yet. It is our first collaboration with this museum. The museum doesn't have very extensive descriptions of the maps. We don't have many volunteers who do GLAM projects locally and who can help with the upload.No. Our chapter and volunteers don't have a lot of experience with Wikidata yet and even Commons uploads are still quite new for us.Make sure the maps are uploaded as structured data, with good structured information about what is depicted in them and the geographic coordinates they coverTraining for our volunteersArrange group training around structured data on Commons.

Wikimedia Digitization User Group / Public Domain ProjectUploading public domain music to Commons since 2011Carl Flischfuchur@pdproject.orgCarl Flisch, Musicologistsince 2011WMCH, WMAT, WMDE, autores.uy, Digitale Allmend, Enter AG, Memoriav, SwissJazzOrama, Zurich University of the Arts and many morethis year we start with the inventory of all records in our collection and make photos of each disc. Memoriav need the inventory that we can ask for a grant from the government. Additional one volunteer digitize "Helvetica" (swiss music) and I check the copyrights. We will start a grant request to WMF in late springtime 2018. Actually we search more volunteers (maybe with the organization of a edit-a-thon) for the correction of the data of 2017. Last year we had a joint-venture with the Foundation Autismuslink (Asperg autists) and have a lot of MediaWiki articles and Metadata that need a correction. WMCH ask for the upload of FLAC files for our digitization project between 2011-2014 to replace the Ogg files in Wikimedia Commons. We need more help of the community!!

Wiki EducationDashboard support for media contribution campaignsSage Rosssage@wikiedu.orgSage RossJune - August 2018Outreachy intern will work on improving support for media contribution campaigns on outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org, including possibly UIs for curation tasks for uploads by a group of usersDaniel KinzlerThis is a mass-editing use case: allow participants of an event to translate captions for al lthe images created during that event. In the future, allow mass-tagging such images, e.g. by the event, location, or subject. The MediaInfo infrastructure proivdes an API that allows this kind of thing to be done without touching wikitext. A nice UI needs to be created that allows mass-editing - ideally, my many people at once.I'm not going to write the UI, I'm busy with writing the server side code :)

Wikimedia Community User Group Sri LankaRehman Abubakrrehman.wikimedia@live.comCompletedPhoto project covering hydroelectric dams in Sri LankaAll the photos depict the same thing -- hydroelectric dams. This project makes it possible to compare the dams to each other. Each photo could have the same (very specific) data fields -- e.g. megawatts per hourThe data fields for this project would likely differ from the default data fields. This project would lend itself very well to structured data, again because each photo could be described using the same data fields.
