Gregresearchwho?For -c, I can believe that directories under a build dir should be removed if they are empty, but I'd not clean empty directories in the working tree (maybe that's done with -cc?), and _never_ in a repository. I think this issue be assigned to someone to prepare a spec in the wiki, and then re-triage based on that spec.

Greg1.xp2who?When I wrote up this bug I didn't know it means that there needs to be a target scanner for C/C++ build steps that picks this up as a dependency. Since it affects build correctness, it should be fairly high priority.

Steven1.xp2I'd like to see this done like issue #1107 (dup?) with a variable that gets added to the command line with the -include option, not by introspecting on the ${C,CC,CXX}FLAGS values.
