The sessions that are included in this map are those that relate to Gameful (takes inspiration from how good games function, and applies that to the design of learning environments). This doesn't mean that these are the only sessions that will discuss these topics, just a selection based on one fellow conference attendee's preferences!

How this map came to be...What you'll find here...

This year, in the spirit of authenticity, the Field Guides have crowd sourced the engagement maps. All of this year's maps were developed by at least one OLC "Map Maker". You can read more about the map maker(s) on the "session selection" tab(s) of this sheet.

note: if more than one Map Maker shared their ideas for a map, there will be multiple "session selection" tabs, but only one map template.

Map template - tab 2: In a schedule-builder format, here you'll find all of the Map Maker's selections coalesced into one ultimate map

"Session Selections" - tab 3+: Each session selection tab is from one of our volunteer Map Makers. You'll find an image they shared with us, in addition to a brief bio, and their process for making 10 session selections from the program schedule

If you're trying to decide which of the many amazing OLC Innovate 2021 sessions to attend, checking out our engagement maps is a good place to start. If you know there are days you can participate more/less in this year's conference, check out the overview of the selected sessions schedule ("Map Template") for starters. If you see a session on the map and want to learn more, click on the "Session Selections" tab(s). You access full details (date, time, title, abstract, presenter(s). track, key words, zoom) of the sessions in the schedule there. You can also learn more about the Map Maker and how they selected their recommended sessions. If there are multiple Session Selection tabs, consider checking out the Map Maker bios and process to see if any resonate with you specifically. After you've decided if this map suits your needs, you can make a copy of /or download the sheet to plan out the rest of your conference going activities in the Map Template.
