PURPOSE: To confirm that the horse demonstrates correct basics, and in addition to the requirements of Training Level, has developed the thrust to achieve improved balance and throughness and to maintain a more consistent contact with the bit. All trot work may be ridden sitting or rising, unless stated.JUDGE: Robyn NunnallyLink

COLLECTIVE MARKSPOINTSTOTALREMARKS
41
1GaitsFreedom and regularity66short quick steps in trot
42
2ImpulsionDesire to move forward; elasticity of the steps; suppleness of the back; engagement of the hindquarters6212could be more elastic; develop mediums with strength and longer steps
43
3SubmissionWilling cooperation; harmony; attention and confidence; acceptance of bit and aids; straightness; lightness of forehand and ease of movements6212could be more through the back; can be fussy in contact; could show more uphill balance
44
4Rider’s Position and SeatAlignment; posture; stability; weight placement; following mechanics of the gaits66hands high
45
5Rider’s Correct and Effective Use of the AidsClarity; subtlety; independence; accuracy of test66clarity of aids for simple change; response to leg for mediums
46
Obedient and willing horse. The trot needs to show longer more swinging steps overall with clearer tracking up. Mediums in trot and canter need definition and power, showing some uphill push instead of quickening. Be sure to show clear angle and bend on lateral work - horse appears very capable of these movements but they are vague/fade. Continue to work on simple changes and no walk steps in the downward transition (canter departs are good). Establish halts with immobility and straightness before saluting or RB.
