PURPOSE: Tests provide an introduction to the discipline of Western Dressage; the horse performs only at the walk and jog. The rider should demonstrate correct basic position, use of basic aids, and understanding of the figures. The horse should show relaxation; harmony between horse and rider is important. The horse accepts the aids and influence of the rider. The jog should be a natural gait within the horse's scope and should demonstrate a swinging back.JUDGEIda NorrisLink:

Enter working jog, proceed down center line without halting

Track left, working jog
Straightness; regularity and quality of the jog; balance and bend in the turn.6.56.5steady, rider tilts left ( collapse over left rib cage) horse to slightly round to connection , ;lacked preparation to turn left
13
2E - B

B
Half circle left 20m, working jog

Proceed straight ahead, working jog
Balance and inside bend on the half circle; straightness; regularity and quality of the jog.5.55.5short tracking, needs longer steps: more impulsion, and lower neck to connection , geometry accurate
14
3Between M & CDevelop working walkWilling, smooth transition; balance and bend in the corners; regularity and quality of the walk.66rider forearms braced topline hollow needs flow into walk
15
4H - B

B
Change rein, free walk

Working walk
Horse willing to freely stretch the neck forward and down; relaxation; swing through the back; ground cover; willing, smooth transition; regularity and quality of the walks.6.5213show slight overtrack needs more stretch i.e. tip of ears below withers
16
5FHalt 4 seconds. Proceed working walkBalance in transition to square, straight halt; immobility; willing, smooth transition; regularity and quality of the walk; balance and bend in the corner.7214quiet halt , square and connection was more correct here
17
6Between A & KDevelop working jogWilling, smooth transition; straightness; regularity and quality of the jog5.55.5inverted , rider bracing arms , short tight steps

B
Half circle right 20m, working jog

Proceed straight ahead, working jog
Balance and inside bend on the half circle; straightness; regularity and quality of the jog.66liked the geometry< rider leaning to turn and her head not level, horse slightly hollow topline
19
8Between F & ADevelop working walkWilling, smooth transition; balance and bend in the corner; regularity and quality of the walk.5.55.5abrupt, still aids / above the hand on short side

B
Change rein, free walk

Working walk
Horse willing to freely stretch the neck forward and down; relaxation; swing through the back; ground cover; willing, smooth transition; regularity and quality of the walks.6212shows some longer steps needs stretch over and DOWN

10MHalt 4 seconds
Proceed working walk
Balance in transition to square, straight halt; immobility; willing, smooth transition; regularity and quality of the walk; balance and bend in the corner.5210above bracing hand into unbalanced halt, hands wide fingers not closed on reins , above bit in walk after

Develop working jog

Change rein, working jog
Willing, smooth transition; balance and bend in the corners; straightness; regularity and quality of the jog66nicely straight, needs impulsion and lower neck for softer connection

Working walk

Halt, salute
Balance and bend in the turn; straightness; regularity and quality of the jog; willing, smooth transition; regularity and quality of the walk; balance in downward transition to square, straight halt; immobility.66not quite on the line to start, wandering slightly in the walk

2ImpulsionDesire to move forward with suppleness of the back and steady tempo.66need energy throughout for back suppleness

3Rider’s Position, Seat, and HandsWell-balanced elastic seat demonstrating vertical, centered alignment, with light independent contact from hand(s)6.56.5alignment ok, hand slightly out of position at times and rigid, weight not even through core / collapse over ribcage
30
4Rider’s Correct and Effective Use of the AidsEvidenced by the horse's responsiveness; steady elastic connection cultivating athletic expression. Accuracy - precise placement of the figures and transitions, the effectiveness of the rider's aids determines the accurate fulfillment of the required movements of the tests66leans to turn, arms to be more elastic, needs earlier and more active preparation for transition ss, geometry was pretty good today
31
IGHarmonyThe horse accepts the aids and influence of the rider with attention, relaxation and confidence; and demonstrates a willing partnership between horse and rider resulting in a free flowing performance6.5213willing horse, needs correct 1/2 halts and preparation for connection
32
What a gorgeous horse and i like this riders outfit with this horse! Most of the geometry was well organized. Soft and elastic preparation for transitions down needed. Rider work on coree being level left to right and more elastic arms. lots of potential!
