Further Remarks: Willing horse Work to develop greater suppleness of steps for greater elasticity. (Try riding forward and back first in the trot so the horse is more prompt to aids. Then do the same thing in the canter so the horse will develop better use of back and hind legs in the canter. To develop better stretch try walking a 15m circle and feed a little outside rein maintaining the bend. Gradually feed a little more inside and outside rein but never giving up the bend on the circle. It is easier to encourage stretch on a bending line.)
