Financial HighlightsPrevious month's report is posted after the staff meeting (usually second Tuesday of the month). See the KASC blog for financial reports. GOOD NEWS:
On the July Profit and Loss Report for YTD (January - July) we are on track for budget in Membership (only down one school) and Products, but behind in Training.

Jan - July 2025 YTD Membership Income: $117,637.33 vs. YTD Budget: $118,000.00
Jan- July 2025 YTD Product Income: $12,185.00 vs. YTD Budget: $12,300
Jan- July 2025 YTD Training Income: $20,820 vs. YTD Budget: $40,100
The area of concern is Training. For context, 2024 YTD Training Income was $27,090. So while we budgeted aspirationally for training, we are $7,000 behind what we actually brought in from training at this point last year. This $7,000 can be accounted for with the money we would have taken in from OVEC schools that were offered free training because of our agreement. Bottom line numbers--since we no longer pay OVEC the $12,000 fee for processing our payroll, this $7,000 is not a concern. We are actually benefitting financially from our OVEC agreement. So, our training income is about the same as last year but we are $13,000 behind what we wanted to bring in.

Jan- July 2025 YTD OVERALL Income: $-129,740.33 vs. YTD Budget: $-132,793.74 With less expenses than budgeted, and added income from our investments, we are still better than our expected bottom line.

The June financial documents can be found (as always) on the Monthly Financial Reports tab on the Board Blog. Please feel free to reach out to Jennifer (bookkeeper@kasc.net) or Liz (lerwin@kasc.net) if you have any questions.

The Aug Agenda News highlights included:

-Ways to approach SB 181 in your school, plus highlights from a KDE frequently asked questions document.
-Change coming in accountability this spring — the ACT has been Kentucky's college admissions exam for state accountability, but that contract ended, and it looks like College Board's SAT exam will take its place.

The number of opens for Aug is much lower than usual, it's equal to about 26%. This was emailed on Aug 7, so the beginning of school overload is probably a factor, but we wanted to compare the topics and former open rates to see what we can learn.
As board members, will you look over this information and provide insights into what entices you and your people to open the tools, what kinds of tools you need, etc. Anytime you can suggest tools it is so helpful to us! We keep adding new tools, as well as updating and improving the existing tools
