This spreadsheet, developed by ELD Scholarly Communications Committee in April 2021, and revised in August 2021, November - December 2021, April - May 2022, November - December 2022, April 2023, November 2023 and April 2024 is to provide reference for OA policies of engineering and applied science society publishers.

Column headings with descriptive and coding information

Publisher & Website (Column A): contains name of publisher and link to general publisher website

Journal Websites (Column B): contains links to web pages describing journals available; links to individual journals not included

OA Options (Column C): general statement indicating which options are available and extent of OA implementation by the publisher. OA option code pertaining to the row for Green (GR), Gold (GO), Hybrid (H), Topical (T)

Licensing Options (Column D): general statement indicating version of CC license and compliance with funder mandates such as Plan S. Specific license(s) pertaining to the row (e.g., CC BY-NC-ND)

APC Charges (Column E): general statement indicating base charges and additional fees or discounts. specific charge (or range of charges) pertaining to the row

OA FAQ Documents (Column F): link to OA FAQ Document. link to FAQ document only if specific to the OA option pertaining to that row (otherwise “See Above”)

Indexing (DOAJ and BrowZine etc.) (Column G): indicate DOAJ, BrowZine, etc for the journals

Available in SHERPA/RoMEO (Column H): link to SHERPA/RoMEO. Indicate Y, N, or Mixed for set of journals pertaining to that row. “Mixed” indicates that some journals in that row are represented in SHERPA/RoMEO, and some are not.

Notes & Other Relevant Links (Column I): links and notes to supplemental items relating to the publisher. any supplemental items available specifically for the OA option pertaining to that row
