Purpose of this document

The purpose of this document is to track Safe Sport initiatives in the Canadian sport ecosystem. Included in this version are primarily Safe Sport initiatives from Multisport Services Organizations (MSOs), Federal, Provincial or Territorial government bodies, National Sport Organizations (NSOs), and Provincial Multisport and Sport Organizations (PSOs / PMSOs).

Initiatives tracked in this version are preliminary, meaning that the list of initiatives is non-exhaustive, and the information tracked for each initiative, such as source of funding or cost of initiative, might be incomplete.

Future phases of this work may include a broader community outreach to further populate the information in this document with more Safe Sport initiatives, and more complete information for tracked initiatives.

Certain aspects of this information may become publicly available in future phases of this engagement, for which respective stakeholders will be consulted and made aware when applicable.
Initiatives in this document include a consolidation of Safe Sport initiative lists from the COC, SDRCC, Sport Canada, and other orgnanizations for which publicly available information was used to fill out initiative data fields.
